This Adirondack river is strewn with glacial boulders that came to rest as the last of the ice sheets retreated northward about 10,000 years ago. Martha found it a congenial place to rest, too, but the water surges past, compelled to constantly seek new places. At the riverbank, we are connected, linked, and attached to all of these other places by the lifeline of the river.

Summer Breeze a beautiful poem by the same title by a dear friend of mine Anne Van Alkemade / Inspired by the song Summer Breeze / by Seals and Croft Also inspired by myself and my experience of having bugs and insects come to try and take up residence in my ears… scrabbling around in there, getting all comfy…while I’m going crazy…click beetles, houseflies and spiders so far have all tried this… lol This is a girl who has an affinity with nature, and as the summer breezes begin to blow here in Australia…....the animals are drawn to live in her hair thinking that it must be branches of a tree… yes, my hair’s that dry… :) I thought it a fitting one for summer, hope you like her… Pencil drawing took me about 3 hours / Digital colouring – 10 hours / Total time 13 hours
