the most mysterious and beautiful of landscapes…the human body. inspired by this passage from the novel, “The English Patient” by Michael Ondaatje: / “I’m afraid I waste the light on the paintings, not writing these words. Shot this photo in late summer in Oregon. Used Corel Painter Essentials 4 and PSCS3 to create an oil painted look. Used the thick paint>oilpain>tapered camelhair brush in different sizes to create a looser, painterly style.

Oil on canvas, 30×40 This is a portrait of a young lady that used to model for me in California, and this was from a photo taken on our first photoshoot near Three Rivers, CA. We had actually finished for the day and were headed home when I saw these “Farewell to Spring” flowers on the side of the road. They get their name because they always bloom in late May, just as the weather starts getting hot.
