In memory of my beloved min pin “Pinky” (10.09.1994 – 18.07.2007). Pinky’s a big dog in a little package. She was stubborn, spoilt, alert, smart, very loyal, playful, snappy, loud, amusing, feisty, but most of all, loved by her family and she loved us back just as much. We will miss you always, baby.
This was taken first thing in the morning as the sun rose through the window. Our daughter delights in playing on our bed and has a somewhat feisty approach!
She’s the firy redhead of your dreams!! But not having any of it!!! Ink on illustration board.

This feisty Slender Mallee blue tongue Cyclodomorphus melanops (an endangered species in NSW) was not terribly impressed by being captured in some overnight traps set in the spinifex. He even latched onto my collegue who was holding it for the photos. This animal is also adult size so they are much smaller than ‘normal’ blue tongues. This shot was taken between Broken Hill and Wentworth in far western NSW. This is a red capped mangabey. I met him in Cameroon at the Limbe Wildlife Centre where I cleaned out his cage and fed him. These monkeys are extremely beautiful and also extremely dangerous. It was so difficult to get this shot as if I got too close he would grab me or grab my lens…phew! Red-Capped Mangabeys have a distinctive red head, and a white tip to their tail. They are excellent jumpers, spending much of their time in the trees. They are found in central West Africa (Nigeria, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon). In the wild, they eat mostly fruit, but also leaves, mushrooms, shoots, nuts, grubs, ants, and insects. Red-Capped Mangabeys are intensively hunted in Cameroon. Its habitat is also being destroyed by man through logging and farming. Their status is endangered.
