  • this is the guest room of the Ca D Zan / ( Sarasota, Florida, Ringling Brothers Museum) The Ca D’Zan The sixth of the seven Ringling brothers of Baraboo, Wisconsin, John Ringling was one of the founders of the famous circus. He and his wife vacationed in Sarasota in the early 1900’s and purchased their bayfront property in 1912. , Ca d’Zan, now stands. Combining their love for Sarasota with their love of baroque art, they decided to build a museum on the estate grounds and fill it with the finest paintings and objects that they could ever buy. When John Ringling died, he left to the State of Florida over 600 paintings, including the world’s largest private collection of works by Peter Rubens, and lots of other objects – prints, drawings, sculptures, antiques, pottery, jewelry, and furniture. Today, visitors from around the world visit this wonderful complex looking over Sarasota Bay. The Art Museum, Ca d’Zan, the Ringling Mansion and the Museum of the Circus are all open to the public for a single admission. The beautifully landscaped grounds contain over 400 kinds of Florida trees, plants and flowers, garden figures and Mable’s historic rose garden. The Banyan Cafe is open for lunch or a snack. • Beautiful skies after numerous thunderstorms passed through this past weekend, reflected on the flooded waters in the City Park behind our home in northeast Iowa.

  • Come sit with me and see what I see…….feel what I feel as I indulge my senses in the awesome beauty with which we have all been blessed. As I sit here in the coastal grasses and feel the cool salt air on my face, blowing my hair and refreshing me both physically and spiritually I am in awe…..I am so relaxed as I watch the calm ocean barely moving; it is a peace for which there are no words, only feelings. Come sit with me and see what I see …feel what I feel…....... / Shot in Pacific Grove, CA on 06/03/09. / / /

  • In March of this year, my husband Lynn and I had the great pleasure of meeting, sharing and being blessed by Lindsay Wagner (deeksha blessing), by participating in an experiential workshop, she calls “Quiet the Mind, Open the Heart”. In addition, I was further blessed by being invited to her home for a private session for several hours, where she re-awakened my knowledge of EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and also known by several other names. She also reminded me how our past experiences, with our inner file cabinets, color our perceptions of the world and our reactions to it. Like a particular incident that causes pain that we refuse to allow to heal, and even though we are very intelligent, our familial and/or societal upbringing, beliefs and responses can program us to react in ways that rob our joy in daily life. She helped me to explore my prior programming and shift my perspective beyond it, “to experience life as it is in the moment.” / One of the most profound gifts she gave me were the words upon this image, a new daily practice of mine ~ while touching just above the heart in a circular motion, I say each of these phrases three times, especially when experiencing any stress, but most often a daily mantra. It has had such a healing effect on regaining some power within my life, I thought I would share it here. / Image is a sketch of scales balanced, photographed and edited in photoshop7 with fractilius filter and text. / My hope and intention is that those that will benefit from this simple tool, will utilize and share it to heal themselves and others. / / Feelings

  • Noosa River, Noosaville, Queensland Australia. Quite liked the vapour trail from a airliner in this shot. Bird is a Little Pied Cormorant, flying just ablove the waterline. Canon 50D, 22mm. Available Large, and best viewed Large!

  • When I set up for this shot, I had the Eagles song of this title name pop straight into my head. I thought to myself, this is what I will name this shot. I could not hear a thing, there was not even birds chirping, no breeze, it was silence. I think I could easily get addicted to shooting in the early morning! :) Shot on the outskirts of Kilcoy, Queensland, Australia. Shot about 30 minutes after dawn. Canon 50D, 22mm, 16:9 crop. Available, and best viewed LARGE!

This artwork was featured in Dimensions, Imaginative Realism, Photo Manipulators, and Fantasy Fine Art Composites This image has come to mean a lot to me since I first posted it. When I was making it, I was simply merging a bunch of elements that I really enjoy – nature, juxtaposing seasons, a captivating background, interesting model poses, realistic water, and using a monochromatic blue colour scheme. But I guess subconsciously, I was creating an outward projection of how I feel about a very passionate issue with which I am currently faced… Due to resolution issues, the deer had to be photo-painted into the image. Water effect created using a displacement map in PS. • On a flight back to the kingdom within, the kingdom of peace, of, love, of beauty, the kingdom of Heaven, she sheds tears for all the pain she has seen, for all the love that is lost, for all tears that we cry…... / She leaves a sparkling trail of angel’s dust to fall back down to earth, maybe they will reach our hearts, touch our souls, and let us find the Love that is inside us, the beauty of all that is…..reach deep inside, find your kingdom of love and light, Your Kingdom of Heaven…. / Shed no more tears, but those of love and for love… / Peace Always, / Leah♥ *An older graphite piece revisited, completely compiled in Photoshop ;)
