Judith suggested Rainy street could be in B&W. She has great B&W work and has been an inspiration to me. So I tried with PS to convert the photo into B&W. But I’m new to PS and don’t know if I did it right. Please let me know what you think about the tones, contrast, textures… will a more grainy feel help? Thank you.

VIEW LARGE PLEASE Micon can see through time and space and find anyone he loves. Here he longs for the guardians of the gate. These two are his playful mother Ullan and her lover Sami.. They are suspended in time in a village called Wassnt. Back home there are those that must defend the planet by always being awake to danger.. Ullan voulenteered to be suspended in time and then her lover did the same.. They are always awake and use their powers of ‘feeling out’ to warn the Armies of VELORUM of any impending danger. Being suspended in time gives them the ability to always be awake. She misses her Micon and knows when he is looking in.. when he is looking in she always tries to be happy.. for she misses her boy very much.

Thanks to dogpriest for the title….... Many people struggle with the word ‘kindness’. / Many people feel that ‘kind’ people can be walked over, abused, hurt and treated badly. Why? Well, because they are ‘kind’ and they will not mind. They will forgive, as always, and still see the good behind the words and actions. ‘Kind’ people are seen as ‘soft’ and are often encouraged to ‘toughen up’. / Well…...in my experience, ‘kind’ people are not always born that way. Experience makes us that way – often bad experiences and a lot of pain, hurt and trauma. / I’m tired of being seen as ‘too soft’ and ‘too nice’, professionally, – to me there is no such thing. I have had enough pain, fighting and hurt in my life…now…I just want peace…and I just want to be…..me….....and let other people be…them…. / I don’t think I’m asking for too much. / Please read this and, the next time you think someone is being ‘too soft’ – look beyond the ‘kind’ face, listen beyond the words you hear and really feel… / you might find that you see them differently….and you might then understand where their compassion comes from. Kindness Before you know what kindness really is / you must lose things, / feel the future dissolve in a moment / like salt in a weakened broth. / What you held in your hand, / what you counted and carefully saved, / all this must go so you know / how desolate the landscape can be / between the regions of kindness. / How you ride and ride / thinking the bus will never stop, / the passengers eating maize and chicken / will stare out the window forever. Before you learn the tender gravity of kindness, / you must travel where the Indian in a white poncho / lies dead by the side of the road. / You must see how this could be you, / how he too was someone / who journeyed through the night / with plans and the simple breath / that kept him alive. Before you know kindness / as the deepest thing inside, / you must know sorrow / as the other deepest thing. / You must wake up with sorrow. / You must speak to it till your voice / catches the thread of all sorrows / and you see the size of the cloth. / Then it is only kindness / that makes sense anymore, / only kindness that ties your shoes / and sends you out into the day / to mail letters and purchase bread, / only kindness that raises its head / from the crowd of the world to say / it is I you have been looking for, / and then goes with you every where / like a shadow or a friend.
