  • Federation Peak is an iconic walk in the south-west wilderness area of Tasmania. This shot is taken of me on the final part of the summit climb. Not surprisingly an assent of the peak is held somewhat in awe by many in the bushwalking fraternity. Conditions need to be perfect and I have met a few people who have done the week long walk a number of times and still not summited due to foul weather in this most inclement part of Tassie. It has also seen its fair share of tragedies the sadest being of a couple who did the walk on their honeymoon with the wife declining to do the last part while the husband proceeded in deteriorating weather. She never saw him again and rescuers couldn’t even find his body so precipitous is the terrain. On the day we summited it was blue skies without a breath of wind. Ironically a father and son team who had completed the ardous approach with a giant kit to fly off the summit ended up packing it up in disgust when the perfect conditions negated their plans. Obviously from the summit you can see for hundreds of square miles and amazingly not a single man made artifact is visible. An unforgettable place. P.S. This shot is well below what I would consider acceptable in quality these days (taken in 1996) and is included for interest sake only. Believe it or not but I’m standing only 2 meters away from the ‘walking’ track here. For more Tassie shots check out my / Tasmania / gallery. • The iconic Forum Theatre found in the city of Melbourne opposite federation square. Shot at night bringing out it’s grand shapes and lines. MELBOURNE IN PHOTOS

  • I took this photo longer ago than I care to remember. I have recently been back to reshoot it to no avail, other house have appeared and a hedge has grown up in front of the old house, no where near as appealing a the 28 year old original photo. Thank you Kodachrome for not fading.

  • Doing a class at the moment, and the first night was panorama. Thought I would share.

  • A low cloud descended over the city as i looked towards Fed Square which acted like a giant reflector so i watchd and waited for a train to head into town.

  • One of the striking examples of architecture in Melbourne’s Federation Square precinct.

  • Canada goes to the polls October 14th for the latest federal election. Remember there is NO SUCH THING as a wasted vote!

  • The wonderful dome of the Forum Theatre is seen through the modern architecture of Federation Square, Melbourne
