  • Sales of this Design? – 4 sales so far :) / ‘Beach Series’ card by Karin Taylor ‘I saw the angel in the marble and I carved until I set him free.” – Michelangelo Ocean Angel is a mixed media production (ink, charcoal, pastel, acrylics) on canvas textured paper. Ocean Angel is a beautiful mer-angel, a mythical creature from my own imagination….unlike the mermaids who are generally mischievous in folklore, Ocean Angel tends to care :D

  • These beautiful butterflies are Ulysses. All of them are male. I just saw the blue and fawn colour together on something and then came up with these butterflies in a rainforest setting which is their natural habitat. I think the two colours work well together. I get inspired alot by colour and the combination of colours together. I saw alot of these butterflies in nature where I grew up as a child in Weipa Queensland, Australia. They are just so magnificent in real life. I could never take my eyes of them. The original oil on canvas measures 60×90cm and has sold. • I HAD BEEN SITTING IN ONE OF MY USUAL HAUNTS IN THE CUYAHOGA VALLEY NATIONAL PARK BETWEEN CLEVELAND AND AKRON, OHIO FOR ABOUT THREE HOURS ON A SUNDAY MORNING IN APRIL. NOTHING…BUT NOTHING INTERESTING HAD COME ALONG AND I FINALLY DECIDED TO PACK IT IN AND MOVE TO ANOTHER PART OF THE PARK. I PACKED UP MY GEAR AND STOOD UP, TURNED AROUND, AND STEPPED OVER THE LOG I’D BEEN SITTING ON, TOOK TWO STEPS, AND ON THE THIRD, ALMOST STEPPED RIGHT ON THIS LITTLE GUY. • Featured in Image Writing – December 28, 2008 / —-—-—-—-—-— / In my dreams I am walking along the forest trail. I have a white cotton dress on, my hair is tied back with a ribbon, and my bare feet feel cool as they caress the dew on the grass beneath me. I am a child again – young, free, innocent…trusting. Wild daisies frame the wooded trail. Their soft white petals sparkle as the rays from the rising sun kiss the dew on their tips. The flowers giggle as the butterflies and honey bees flutter about their centers. Just like Cinderella, my favorite fairy tale, the bluebirds and chickadees are following me along the trail. Playfully, they tug at the ribbon in my hair and sing their beautiful melodies as they gracefully fly about. The squirrels and chipmunks are busy gathering acorns and the wonderful scent of fallen leaves fills the autumn air. I hear a rustling in the woods. The berry vines along the trail are swaying side to side, giving way to something approaching our cheerful morning parade. I wonder what it could be? Slowly, quietly, two young fawns emurge and shyly ask if they can join us on the trail. I’ve never seen anything so sweet, so majestic, so pure. Their backs are dappled white and their eyes are big, dark and beautiful. The morning sun kisses their cheeks with warmth and sparkles off their eyes like stars. They look like little angels. Yes, I believe they are. In my dreams nature is full of angels. They come in all shapes and sizes – reminding us of the beauty that surrounds us each and every day. Take the time to stop, look, and listen….you just may hear their whispers and be blessed with something magical. / / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- / My story is inspired by this image and my image by the story. Although we really do have twin fawns around our property (and this is one of them), this is actually a composite of the same fawn I was fortunate enough to capture pictures of – as I walked along the trail in the early morning light :o) / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- / ADD RENEE TO YOUR WATCHLIST

  • Photomanipulation created in Photoshop CS2. I hope this encourages you! This baby fawn has been hanging around in my back yard for a couple months now. Finally got a picture of her! She is so beautiful I had to incorporate her into one of my pieces. I hope she finds her family soon because she is always wandering around alone. But You, O LORD, are a shield for me, / My glory and the One who lifts up my head. / -Psalm 3:3

  • As Is… / Canon PowerShot S3 IS Fawn bedding down for the night after a full meal. Many fawns loose their mothers, and when found by us, they are fed till they can fend for themselves, and go back to the wild. They are penned only till they have become comfortable, and know their food source. Which in most cases is only about a week. Then they run wild, and are fed till they wonder off for good, and answer the call of the wild.

  • This was taken at the Wild Life Ranch in San Antonio Texas. I am so amazed how people paid an arm and a leg to enter this place only to ran about and expect the aminals to come to them. I sat for 20 mins in one spot and just observed the aminals. It was not just by chance. Animals shots take alot of work. Although some people can get lucky.

  • Abnoba, goddess of the Black Forest and Danube Abnoba was a goddess of the Black Forest and Danube River, worshipped by Celtic Gauls, and later by Romans, as Diana Abnoba (goddess of the hunt). Abnoba is believed to mean fog or mist on the river. There are two alters in Roman baths in Badenweiler and Mühlenbach, Germany, respectively, inscribed with the name of “Diana Abnoba” (see below). Rome annexed Gaul in about 51 BC; and it’s conceivable that they attempted to merge gods and goddesses of the two civilizations. / ! I chose to represent Abnoba, because I have an affinity for the forest—to me a kind of sacred place, where trees whisper amongst themselves, their vocal chords, the wind. I love how nature’s cycle of life, and decay-giving life, again, is reduced to the obvious; even there on the forest floor; where I can see it, below my feet and hands, elbows, and curious eye. But to the Celtic Gauls, the forest was life, itself. It was the source of food—they hunted there; the source of firewood for warmth and cooking; for fresh water; and no doubt weapons. The forest was a shield, protecting them. How interesting to have a woman—a divine woman, no less, guarding these very precious resources—the Black Forest, the Danube River, and surrounding rivers and streams. What is it about a woman that would make her the best candidate for protecting the two resources that meant life or death to entire communities? I leave you to contemplate that. Hopefully “Abnoba, goddess of the Black Forest and Danube”, will inspire someone who sees it to become the protector of their own region’s rivers, woods, and creatures—great and small. They need us, as we need them. — Digital Work by F.A. Moore, June 23-24, 2009, in watercolor style; influenced by the art style of Pre-Raphaelites and Arts and Crafts movement. Special thanks to stock providers, the beautiful model from mizzd-stock, FantasyStock, idnurse41, CAStock, LucieG, Dragonic-Stock and wikipedia for 2 special images in the public domain. ABOUT THIS WORK: / I added a variety of creatures to illustrate the ease with which Abnoba must have related to them. Look closely and you will find that animals, birds, reptiles, and insects are all represented. Only fish are not represented. (Darn! forgot!) Information was a bit scarce on the animals that reside in the Black Forest region of Germany, except that there are the usual forest animals, including fox and big cats. The Sperlingskauz, a forest owl; and the Kolkrabe, a species of Raven, were specifically noted as being special to the region. I was lucky enough to find images of these two in the public domain on wikipedia images. Look for the Black Forest’s Sperlingskauz (owl) and the Kolkrabe (Raven) in the piece. • A white tail doe has been bringing her twins to the back yard lately. Yesterday (July 2/09) was the first time they stayed for any length of time. They were actually kind enough to let me wander back to the house, get the camera, change lenses and get back outside for a half dozen or so snaps. Dryden, ON. / Olympus E-3; 70-300 mm lens Group Feature / Deer Me !!! – July 10, 2009 / Baby Animals – August 18, 2009

  • This fella also plays a staring role in my painting ‘Greener Pastures’. and is a cross between a fawn and a donkey, hence his name. Here he explores the CBD to see why all those humans keep getting on the cattle trucks to go there every day.

  • Went for a walk today and met 3 new friends~ this is one of them!!! Was so surprised i was taking a picture and turned and her is this little one right next to me and came right up and slicked my hand!!
