This intimate, bright yet dark, static yet flowing, autumn themed image was made in Baxter State Park, Maine, USA in October 2006. I like the contrast of the flowing water beneath the still branches, the pop of color from the remaining birch leaves, and the juxtaposition of the branch atop the stream in tone and color! /

Bullets, traps, dogs, the like, / Chased you deep into that dark night. / At times you taunted from bamboo lairs, / Places so tight a man not dare! Stars threw down their spears on you / And water’d heaven with their tears / You lay their, dying, filled with fear! Did he who made the Lamb make thee? / Another day you shall not see. Tiger, Tiger, burning bright, / In the forests, one last night: / What immoral hand or eye, / Took your fire and made you cry? Adapted and altered by Mundy Hackett, based upon the famous poem entitled ‘The Tyger” by Sir William Blake! Save the tiger, save the planet, save those things which we wantonly destroy through our greed and incessant pursuit for domination of the natural world. The planet is a living organism, the tiger is but one example of the fire beating in it’s heart, but with each tiger lost in the wild the fire burns a little less brightly. Don’t let the fire go out, save the tiger, save the world! / / / / Part of my line promoting awareness and raising funds for endangered species globally. This is also available as cards and prints. All proceeds (100%) are going to the Wildlife Conservation Society for endangered species protection. It’s the largest egret in the Old World, and thus has garnered the name Great White Egret. But in the Americas, the white form of the Great Blue Heron is larger and warrants that name. In the United States, the Great Egret used to be called the American Egret but that was hardly appropriate, since the species range extends beyond America and indeed farther than other herons.

This was taken early one foggy and soggy morning in Colorado as the sun rose to shine through the dewdrops. This is a reflection of autumn grapevine leaves on a bedroom window taken in late afternoon light. I took a long time to position the camera on a tripod to create a balanced composition of the reflection and my daughter. She loves reading, so the frown is one of intense concentration, not unhappiness. Not a double exposure! Taken with Velvia and a Nikon F4. Scan by Jeremy Daalder.

I’ve wanted to a piece showing the work(s) and people that I admire here on Redbubble for a while now. So I decided to Bmail everyone in my favorites list with the same request: Dear (favorite), / I’m currently thinking about producing a new piece of artwork for Redbubble and I want to feature screen grabs/screen shots of the work in my favourites list (3 to 4 pages in total), in the thumbnail/list view in some way or another… not completely sure yet. / Obviously your fine example(s) of work feature(s) in my list, so I would like to know if you are happy for me to include it or not? The screen grabs will obviously be at low resolution so when they’re included in the finished artwork they would not be particularly sharp.. I just want to use them as part of the overall concept. / It is going to be a piece (I think…maybe!) loosely to do with copyright/copyright infringement, maybe censorship….? If you are not happy for me to use the thumbnail, that’s no problem at all as it will/may form part of the design (the censorship bit…. maybe… blanked out?) / As you can tell it’s a thought in progress – if I get a negative response it’ll be back to the drawing board! / Obviously all of you (if any) will get a mention/link to your original piece of work that I’ve favourited…. maybe, even the people who don’t want their work to appear (the blanked out work) in the artwork itself will still get a link to their piece…? / If you don’t want your work, your name or anything else to be used in any way whatsoever please let me know – I will completely respect your reasons for this and leave it completely out; blanked out or otherwise. / I’m emailng everyone in my favourites list with the same request so I guess it might take a while before I can even start the artwork. If it all goes to plan and I’m reasonably happy with the finished result, I could even send you a copy of the artwork before it goes live just so you can approve it…. please let me know if you want this I’d prefer not to do this though as the work will obviously have already been done!
