This is one of the last remaining rail cars of what was once a glorious and magnificent reign on the island of Newfoundland. Truly the end of an era. / / The Railway was a critical part of Newfoundland’s history from 1882 until 1988. It enabled Newfoundlanders to travel far and wide. It brought freight of all kinds, but most of all it proved that Newfoundland had truly entered an age of prosperity. The railway was originally called the “people’s road” and was meant to last forever. / / Unfortunately, the high cost of maintaining the service and the slowness of the trains (22 hours from St. John’s to Port aux Basques – 12 hours by car) ultimately forced the shutdown of the rail service in 1988. It was replaced by a modern and efficient Bus Service, but for those of us that grew up “riding the rails”, there will always be a special place for the trains. / / / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / /
I have been looking for an old farm tractor to photograph so I drove a few of the backroads this afternoon and although I didn’t come across a tractor I did come across this old machine. I love these old antiques… imagine the stories they would be able to tell. / / / / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / /

No matters what, / No means how, / Anything makes us stronger in life… Life is beautiful; / Such as the color of chain.. / Rusty but full of experience, / Rusty but deep beautiful colored…
He had a lot to tell, / Grabbed a chair and began to listen him.. Boy, / Whatever it takes, / Keep on the path you are going with, / Cause in the end, / You wouldn’t find the mean of life / If you held your hands to / Complicated city life.. Once I asked the time to someone in the city… / He answered so fast : / “Go and buy yourself a watch”... I never asked anything to anyone in the city / Anymore… Here; / Since I was born, / Hights are telling me the time / Of the day. / They whisper to my ears; / “We are real”, here.. / Standing tall always; / “As we are”.. That means a lot; / I am happy; / I am proud… / I am lucky; / To know goods around / Like him.. I got the key: / Be honest, / Keep being honest, / Seemed as you be, / Be as you seemed.. I AM HAPPY; / To heard what he said.. He s a man… / A good man… My notice again is: / To me; / Older people, / Those who are more experienced than I, / Tell me that my books need to be read. / They are the books that I always wanted to read.. Happiness.. / Peace… / Freedom of my own hights… Light Love Knowledge

Navratri festival ends today and tomorrow(the 10th day)-another popular festival Dusshera will be celebrated all across India. Yesterday me and my friends had a great time enjoying the on going Dusshera festival here in my home town. The official celebrations for this festival starts from day one of Navratri festival. Dusshera festival is celebrated in “dusshera ground” of my town(it’s just 10 minutes walk from my home) and streets are filled with people(of all age groups) going to Dusshera ground along with their friends & families. In the Dusshera ground there is preparations going on for tomorrow’s main Dusshera festival, there are several fun rides & Ferris wheels, small shops selling various goods, food stalls etc. I was not home for all navratri festival days, so i came back home yesterday and i straight way rush to “Dusshera ground” with my friends and we had great time. About Dusshera festival Dusshera is a popular festival celebrated by Hindus all over India, albeit with different names. It is also known as Vijayadashmi (‘Vijay’ meaning ‘victory’ and ‘Dashmi meaning ‘tenth day), as it is believed that it was on this day that Lord Rama killed the demon-king, Ravana and rescued his abducted wife – Sita. In other words, it signifies the triumph of good over evil. The legendary triumph is reenacted to the day. In the northern parts of India, huge effigies of Ravana, his giant brother Kumbhkarna and son Meghnath are placed in vast open grounds. Fireworks and crackers are placed inside the effigies. Actors dressed as Rama, his wife Sita and brother Lakshmana enact the final moments of the battle, at the Ramlila ground. After the enactment of the climax of the war with Ravana, the character playing Rama shoots an arrow with a flaming tip at the effigies from a safe distance and the crowd bursts up in cheer, as the crackers catch fire. The enthusiasm and the cheers sometimes even drown the deafening blast. Merriment ensues, as people indulge themselves games, dance and music that are held at the fair. Main festival of Dusshera is tomorrow, i hope to get some neat shots.
