I was resting in the Fitzroy Gardens, Melbourne when I noticed this scene. Just above was a group of Rainbow Lorikeets yelling at me (also photographed!) but this simple composition stood out to me. There was something old world about the texture and shape of this old tree and I wanted to reveal the detail of it without being so close that it lost its identity and form. Another macro shot from the Sigma 150 f2.8 marco. Dropped the levels seriously after playing with selective colour. Cropped it in a little tighter for effect together with unsharp mask! This is a first of its kind for me.. Found some time to play.. I liked the fog and ferns.. Then I thought a rising lotus to bring out a thought of hope for mother earth.. There is so much talent out there for this type of special edit art.. I am just starting to crawl but will work down the road to play again.. Hope you enjoy..
