To better VIEW THIS PHOTO select option VIEW LARGER The Northern Cardinal is one of the birds that is found in the Rouge. ..............................The male is bright red, with a black bill, while the female is grayish with a pink crest and bill. They are fairly common in Ontario and Quebec, and have been sighted in New Brunswick…............................. They frequent woodlands; but cardinals may be attracted to your back yards, with bird feeders well stocked with sunflower seeds. They are shy; yet curious; and the slightest motion or camera sound will cause them to take flight. Photographing them with any degree of success takes time. / Spring Posy TShirt / Spring Fairy TShirt ‘Friends Series’ card by Karin Taylor One Spring Day is a mixed media production (ink, pastel, charcoal, acrylic) on canvas textured paper. I have also used a variety of found objects, including lace and ribbons…and an especially beautiful gold paint for the wings which were underpainted first to created texture. On of my favourite paintings, my heart and soul went into this piece…two sweet little girls in darling dresses hanging out in the garden together….what could be nicer.

This Thick-tailed gecko Underwoodisaurus milii was found during hand searches in spinifex in western NSW. We enjoyed his company during this early morning photo shoot. This species is reasonably common, in particular, through the granite outcrops of the great dividing range. Click on ‘View Larger” for better viewing.

A juvenile male Elephant Seal is looking backwards at the photographer (me) Image was taken at San Semion California. This young male was a part of a group that had at least 500 Elephant Seals. The pacific coast is home for this wonderful mammals and San Semion has several locations where they are protected. This was taken away from the tourist location, and on a streach of the beach where no people can go. distance was about 5 feet away from the animal. 50% of all proceeds from the sale of this image will be donated to the Marine Conservation Organization Consider my other images of Elephant Seals /

just loved this guy. his mane so unkempt…looked like he’d been out for a long serious night on the town. my recipe? played with sharpening and levels, used one of my favourite plugings (gothic glow), a touch of dodge and burn and here it is. hope you enjoy!
