This is a female blue dasher dragonfly that was cooling off in the rosebushes on a hot Sunday afternoon. She was so kind as to let me take her picture as she “let off a little steam” from her teapot spout. Seriously, this is the way dragonflies beat the heat!

My mom’s passion was Missouri’s wild flowers, / her goal in life was to try to save Missouri’s fast / disappearing wild flowers and heritage flowers / that had been brought in by the first settlers. / This is a memory painting of the ferral english / moss rose that was brought into Missouri in the / late seventeen hundreds when still called the / Louisiana Territory. The smell is wonderful, like a fresh squeezed lemon with a touch of clove. The pink moss rose use to grow along side all rural roads. I spotted this girl outside Zara in Milan, Italy and waas instantly drawn to her ‘look’ and the many necklaces that adorned her neck! After I took a few candids (including this one) I approached her and asked her if I could take some more outside, luckily she agreed but unfortunately I completely forgot to ask her name! Taken with Canon 450D & Canon 18-55mm IS Lens – straight from the camera. My school had a day where we had to dress up in clothes from a protest era, there were many brilliant out fits put together from hippies, to communists to Apartheid protesters. My friend dressed up as a hippie and she was so colourful and covered in jewelry i had to get a shot.
