THEY’VE AXED OUR DEMOCRACY INTO THEIR FASCISM [2007]: Digitization of an original by the great German DaDa master and a socialist-anarchist no other than John Heartfield. The title ought to speak for itself for those who can see deeper thus beyond the lenses of systematic convention and tradition.

Smedley Darlington Butler (1881-1940) is a personal hero and inspiration of mine and hope become yours during these dark times. He was a man of contradictions. A Quaker and a high school dropout he became a First Lieutenant in the Marine Corps before his 18th birthday. Seeing combat in the Banana Wars fought in support of US Dollar Diplomacy in Latin America and Asia between 1898-1927 he also served in World War I ultimately rising and retiring with the rank of 4-star general. He embodied a word which had been dumbed down in today’s press Hero: holding every medal for bravery issued including two Congressional Medals of Honor; technically he should have three CMOH but in 1900 when his first above and beyond the call of duty act of bravery was recorded the medal was not authorized for officers and so received a promotion to captain instead. He was also recommended for the British equivalent of the CMOH the Victoria Cross for rescuing a British soldier during the Boxer Rebellion but in those days American officers were not allowed to receive and wear foreign decorations as they are today. However he did not hold to the reasons why he had to earn these medals. He had intense dislike of seeing the Marine Corps used as muscle for Big Business which would lead him in 1931 to make his famous and very frank “War is a Racket” speech. Made while on active duty before the American Legion Butler’s speech may have been what President Eisenhower was thinking of 30 years later in warning of the Military-Industrial Complex during his own farewell speech to the nation. He was the enlisted man’s general. Fighting in front of them and alongside them never behind them. He knew the value of collecting credible intelligence before committing a nations military to war. Rather than sending someone below him to do the dirty work he went on undercover missions by himself using disguises and getting arrested and bluffing his way out several times prior to one intervention just to deliver accurate information. During the Great Depression he advocated on behalf of WWI veterans seeking early payment of the bonus promised them in 20 years time. An act that would draw him into a plot by Big Business upset with Roosevelt New Deal and decision to abandon the Gold Standard to consider overthrow FDR administration with the help of a paramilitary army of disgruntled and unemployed veterans (as those used in Italy, France and Germany) and replace it with a fascist government with Butler himself in charge. Putting liberty and democracy ahead of dictatorship Butler played amateur detective to gain the confidence of the bankers and industrialist involved and exposed them in 1934 and their front organization the American Liberty League (whose high profile membership list counted among itself the very rich and very anti-semitic) before the bipartisan McCormick-Dickstein Commission looking at Fascist groups in America. This Congressional commission verified Butlers supoenaed testimony and certified a plot to overthrow democracy did indeed exist but that Butler stopped it before it could put its plan into action. Congress in usual fashion did not take any action against the plotters since the issue was now moot.. Played down by the media Butlers allegations were supported by recognized veterans groups at the time. Subsequently the Maguire Affair as it came to be known remains the only instance in recorded American history when America came close to losing its freedom. Butler did not let this story die, and went on radio to criticize both democrats and republicans for failing to bring the plotters to justice. When he died in 1940 he and the story lived on. Aspects of which serving as the character devlopment and storyline for such films as Meet John Doe with Gary Cooper and Seven Days in May with Kirk Douglas. Two films involved using a man on a white horse to convince the common man that in a time of national emergency a dictatorships is what America needs. And since this took place in the 1930s for you Star Wars fans, Butler must be the inspiration for Jedi Knight General Obi-Wan Kenobi and the corporate plot against FDR as the same corporate plot behind the Clone Wars=Banana Wars since this sci-fi serial is based on the 1930s weekly radio and movie serials. If liberty is to survive and experience a rebirth in the USA we must awaken the Butler inside us all.

Very few who have hopped on the Sarah Palin giddyup bandwagon have not taken the time to investigate her extreme brand of religion. Pastor Thomas Muthee, laying on of hands and talking in tongues and the end times…a hodgepodge of extreme evangelicalism Holy Roller voodoo of her little church in Wasilla Alaska. Do your own due diligence Sarah Barracuda Palin one heartbeat away from the presidency if John Maverick McCain should not be able to serve his full term if elected….Senator McCain seventy two years old with a history of melanoma cancer and not to mention a volatile temper. Separation of Church and State is as American as the right to free speech….keep religion out of The White House and church and state separated. But you can’t keep the right wing nut jobs who love Jesus from commenting pretending to be Christians…nope they ain’t Christians just Pharisees with stones in hand and have but one King….Ceaser and will shrill and shout with Christian love if anyone should say anything negative of their new sacred savior Sarah Barracuda Palin….copy the agape if you are a “True Christian.” Scary read if you are a sentient human being “The Handmaid’s Tale” by Margaret Atwood and soon coming to America “The Republic of Gilead” onward Christian Soldiers with blind faith and love for Sarah Barracuda Palin….the Christian haters are amongst us….who do not question just shuffle along like bleating sheep shouting noise and gnashing their teeth….stop and think “What would Jesus do?” / The election is over….God must have sided with the opposition and rejected the Sarah Palins of the United States of American (?). The Barracuda is hoping to toss her AK-47 into the presidential run for 2012….wonder if God will be on her side and those right wing evangelical nut jobs wanting to marry Church and State under a Republican theocracy of intolerance…”onward Christian soldiers in the name of Ceaser!!!!” Too bad they don’t copy the agape.

The Barracuda is planning on running for the Presidency of the Confederate States of Amerika and no doubt will win 100% of the votes with the aid of the Progressive Ignorance Governance Society (aka P.I.G.S.) who are actively donating and contributing corporate and evangelical money to build a war chest of loot to launch her candidacy. She is running on the RepubliKlan Party ticket whose slogan is “The Party that Hangs Together” RepubliKlans get their ideologue talking points from the moral and intellectual thoughts of talking points from the talk radio host Guru talking head Rush Limbaugh the rotund extra triple wide portly mouthpiece of all RepubliKlans. Rush Limbaugh is the epitome of RepubliKlanism never met an ethnic, colored persons of all colors or Democrat he didn’t like especially white Democrats…Rush is strictly white noise for the extreme right white good old boys. He is making an exception for Sarah Palin she is Rush Limbaugh’s idea of what is hot in a Femme Nazi his definition of assertive women. Rush Limbaugh is head over heels enthralled with this machine gun toting granny able to cut and gut any endangered species animal in less than sixty seconds…about as long as Rush can get it up and keep it up. / The Confederate States of Amerika are itching and bitching to break away to live the life of a theocracy of Sunday with fried chicken, expanding the population with unwed teenage mothers, prescription drugs legal or illegal available 24-7 as long as it is approved and distributed by authorized corporate owned drug stores (Levi Johnson’s ma deals in drugs she is an entrepreneur and that is OK wink wink). Rush Limbaugh is a prescription drug addict he was busted for buying prescription drugs without a prescription and told the undercover officers “Busted? If anyone has ever heard “Amazing Grace” and has not been stirred by its words and meaning…that person has no soul in the literal sense and its figurative sense…of soul. Check out the origin of “Amazing Grace” it will knock you over and out…it really will…the time it was written and the events of the times and why it was written and why it needs to be sung…again and again…it stirs the soul and heart for what is the basic right and purpose of all who have lived and are living now and those yet to set foot on this place we all occupy for a such a short time…a lost and found thing…of meaning. “Noblesse Oblige” is a concept you will be amazed at what it really means…and why it is so important whether you are rich or poor or noble in the heart…we can all learn to practice it…and it is a learning process…noblesse oblige amazing grace…i citizen…one planet…one people…one voice…amazing grace noblesse oblige.
