  • Old deserted Irish Farm. Very overgrown with major decay having set in. This has an old glass plate photographic effect.

  • From my original acrylic painting

  • A sheep in the evening light in Pembrokeshire, Wales. Penberri is the hill in the background.

  • A colorful cockrel strutting about the farmyard, painted in realistic airbrush art on airbrush carton.

  • Jack and Nettie keep sheep mostly for their grandchildren’s pleasure. Spring has been busy at their farm with the arrival of at least a dozen lambs, several of which are twins. Here is a pair of girl twins. I thought I’d name them Jackie and Annette in honor of their shepherd and shepherdess. (And now that I think of it, Jack and Nettie have human daughters named Jackie and Annette!)

  • Landscape near my hometown.

  • Walking in the area of Llyn Dinas, near Beddgelert, Wales, UK. I followed an old farmtrack between drystone walls and discovered these deserted farm buildings ….. a touch of imagination and Photoshop CS3 and hey presto … job done :)) / Copyright 2008 Richie Dean.

  • An old abandoned barn in a field at winter.

  • Thunderstorms On the Farm Captured outside of Chief Hosa, Colorado. Some of you may have had about our crazy weather here in Colorado this summer with Tornado’s and all that jazz,....well, here is a story for ya all…... The storm you see in this photo is the very storm which would spawn a Tornado outbreak north of Denver and basically level the town of Windsor, Colorado. I drove through this storm while heading to Lake Dillon, to do some shooting, which is pretty high up in the mountains. While going through it in the mountains, I basically drove through a blizzard. I knew that if this storm kept heading East, it was going to be bad as Denver was warm and the humidity so high, 94% which is rare, because it usally stays at about 10%....all that and the storm colliding with said air makes for some dangerous conditions. Heading back, after Lake Dillon, I detoured some when I saw this barn and just had to get it…the rain stopped for just a second, which added some nice atmosphere for the scene as a whole. Especially with those storm clouds! It was so quiet, almost spooky, just the thunder is all ya heard and the occasional Blackbird. Thoughts welcomed / —-John

  • Featured on RedBubble Homepage in October 2008 These wagons of by-gone days were the work-horse of the farm on the prairies. Pulled originally by horses they were used for hauling grain from the old theshing machines in the 20s and 30s. This was laid to rest many years ago behind a hedge of manchurian elm bushes on a farm north and west of Pambrun, Saskatchewan. /

  • Lost in Utah would have been a more apt title after the GPS affectionately known as “Dorothy” lead me to a graveyard instead of a lake lol. I discovered some gorgeous countryside along route. There is nothing better than getting lost :))

  • Acrylic, fabric, crayon, pen & ink on canvas board / 250mm x 200mm / Sydney 2006

  • Ravaged by the effects of time, elements and neglect, these abandoned farms fight to remain in tact compelling us to remember their place in history…our history! This type of building would have been built in the 50’s or perhaps the 40’s but its actual age is unknown! / /

  • I took this photo last spring at the farm of friends; they were proud as can be of these twin lambs. With the approach of another spring, I’m hoping to get back to the farm to see what newcomers have been added to the flock.
