  • “Homeward Bound” Photography & Artwork / by Holly Kempe © A cattle property at Marlborough, Queensland “Bind me not to the pasture, chain me not to the plow. / Set me free to find my calling and I’ll return to you somehow. / If you find it me you’re missing, if you’re hoping I’ll return. / To your thoughts I’ll soon be listening, and on the road I’ll stop and turn. / Then the wind will set me racing as my journey nears its end. / And the path I’ll be retracing when I’m homeward bound again.” / ~ Kaelyn Archer

  • “Rolling On” Photography & Artwork / by Holly Kempe © An approaching afternoon storm appears on the horizon while a field of hay bales are still glowing in the sun. / Bowen, Queensland. “And then to dwell in sovereign barns, / And dream the days away, / The grass so little has to do, / I wish I were the hay!” / ~Emily Dickinson

  • I was driving along side some of the many paddocks that frequent my area (the Hawkesbury area) when I came across this cow, the light seemed to be pretty decent and seeing as how the cow was a few metres away I decided it would be a good opportunity to test out my new 55-200mm lens.. / The cow just would not look at me (unusual for a cow) and then finally it decided to sneak a glance so I snapped the shutter and this was the result.. / Post processing involved adjusting the exposure, contrast and levels, and then applying a vignette and a monochrome filter. / I havent uploaded anything for quite some time so I decided to throw this image to the wind and see if it flies or crashes and burns.. / As per usual comments and critiquing are more than welcome, and thanks very much for taking a look! • Light spills through and around the limbs and leaves of a large gum tree in as the sun rises through a morning mist in the Adeliade Hills of Australia.

  • This was one of my rewards, that morning for rising early and driving in thick fog to a little town just West of Geelong, called Shelford.

  • More infrared….I’m obsessed again.

  • An old rusting Chevrolet Stylemaster, sitting in a paddock with the promise of restoration, one day.

  • The Farm is a scenic view of one of the many farms on the rural outskirts of Canberra. Behind the scenes / Often, images are born of hard work, careful planning and a lot of patience. Sometimes though, a wonderful scene will appear by chance. It was late in the day when a storm front came over forming some striking cloud formations over the pale brown landscape. The subdued light and limited colours made for a scene similar to a pastel painting. / Canon 1Ds mkIII | EF 100-400mm Artwork / The soft pastel tones and simple composition of this work make it a fantastic addition to your decor. Let The Farm be a window into a peaceful landscape as a framed print or enjoy its’ simple beauty as a canvas. © 2008 A Spence. All Rights Reserved

  • Lost in Utah would have been a more apt title after the GPS affectionately known as “Dorothy” lead me to a graveyard instead of a lake lol. I discovered some gorgeous countryside along route. There is nothing better than getting lost :))

  • I’ve been experimenting and would like to know your thoughts on this. This started out as a ‘yellow toned’ infrared imaged. I put it through a CS2 Plug-in called “Topaz Adjust” – it does a sort of HDR thing. Then I created about 5 layer masks to get the different colours and painted them in. What do you think??

  • An infrared capture taken with a HOYA R72 filter. Topaz Adjust was used to give a slight HDR effect on the grass and fence.

  • Oil on board. Original Available. Based on some country which borders onto my place. / The title has nothing to do with my neighbours.

  • This is Geronimo, my neighbor. Taken just behind the house last winter when we moved here from town. And WHAT a view! Although it was snowing when I took this, snow effects are added… as are Night Effects. I took this by daylight. Geronimo has since moved away but there are many other horses on the ranch. Doc, his father, has this paddock now. Featured in AMERICAS – Rural, Urban, Wild, Free Featured in PHOTO MANIPULATORS Featured in SIMPLY HORSES
