Abandoned couch in Northcote.
This is a copy of a Mod that Rain did for me a long time ago. I can’t find the Original so I have tried my best to emulate what she did for me :) See HIS
The colours of the sunset reflect their warmth on this peaceful corner of the Australian landscape, near Geelong, Victoria.
Caught this storm on the horizon on the way home tonight, just East of Okotoks, Alberta. It is reminiscent of some captures I have seen of hurricanes…. Hope none of our neighbors suffered any damage.

As the drought worsens in Australia, our hope for water rests on the windmills. But even they are dry.
This is the veiw at the end of the lane where the cottage I live in is… I know, I’m spoilt! What blessings I am given.
Sold: 1 large Canvas print to unknown buyer on RB.
After I ran this through processing, it reminded me of something out of the Old West. Special thanks to the very talented Leah Highland for sharing your texture info! You’re awesome. :) / / / Douzy, at your request here is that info. :) / It’s the largest online collection of FREE (free!!!) textures / in the world. You can download up to 15 megs per day, so I’d / recommend saving the smaller versions, and then resizing them later. ;) TEXTURES Once again, thanks Leah!
I saw this rusted frame of a bike on the borders of this wheat field, when I saw it it reminded me of the times I spent as a kid wheeling around my own bike with a hockey card in the spokes and the flag raised high on the back and I even had a streamer or two flapping in the wind off my handlebars. To me this old rusted frame symbolizes the wonderful experiences of a fantastic childhood full of laughter, smiles and fond memories, but time is our enemy and for many of us it fades our once cherished memories to distant glimmers that flicker by on rare occasions, and like this old rusted frame are soon forgotten and will eventually fade completely. / / This replaces a previous version of the image Lost & Found. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / /

I generally am not a horse fan. Or a country girl. (Even though / I come from a long line of knife wielding half crazed Texas / Indians..) But I couldn’t help myself when I saw these two today. The kitty put its nose right up to the horse’s..I couldn’t believe it..

MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD / Best viewed large. / / / / “MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD” was featured in the group COUNTRY ROADS/AROUND THE WORLD / / / / “MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD” was featured in the group NATURAL COLOR AND LIGHT / / / This is a recent photo of my favorite country road! It is located in Flatwoods, Kentucky, in Greenup County, which lies in the northeastern part of the bluegrass state. Many of my relatives live in or just outside of Flatwoods, and my Dad built this one. / / The scenery from this road is almost surreal, it is so beautiful. Surrounding this road are country farms, barns and old churches. This road winds around a gorgeous mountain cloaked with a variety of lush trees and evergreens, whose leaves are radiant in the Fall of the year with brilliant shades of yellow, orange, red, brown and green. / / At the top of the mountain is the end of this magnificent road, which leads to a private, gated mansion that overlooks the entire county. It is very quiet and peaceful there, and everything, including time, seems to stand still on this beautiful road. It is a breath-taking view from the very top, and this is truly my favorite country road!.. / / / To read and learn more about this special country road, / go to:COUNTRY ROAD
“Tall Timbers” Photography and Artwork / by Holly Kempe © Wooded landscape of Gympie, Queensland. “It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men’s hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.” / ~Robert Louis Stevenson Tall Timbers was featured in the: Queensland group – Aug 09
Artist’s Note: I love everything about the Fall: harvests of apples and pumpkins, cool evenings with full orange moon, windy days for kite flying, children dressing up in costumes… the Scarecrow / Standing among giants of sunflowers, / Bright pumpkins growing at my feet. / Crows caw and leaves float on the breeze, / Old green tractor chugs a lively beat. Children sweetly laughed into my hair, / Sticky hands with fresh straw to stuff. / Vintage clothes & buttons bound me now, / Soft cotton flannel is plenty warm enough. I may be made to look scary to a bird, / But really, aren’t I quite nice and smart? / Take this leather gloved hand to hold, / I am not fake, this body has a heart. Dorothy knew me, that courageous Lion too. / So, see my face and know I feel, / for in the mind of a child… / I become real. “A Boab Sunrise” Photography & Artwork / by Holly Kempe © Sony a100 camera / Photoshop CS4 artwork The Australian Aboriginal legend of the Boab Tree (or Bottle Tree): “When the tree God created the Boab Tree it was to be the most beautiful of all trees in the universe, with the most beautiful flowers and bearing the juiciest fruit. But as the tree grew to maturity its flowers were mediocre and its fruit had a bad odour and tasted vile. The Tree God became so angry that he yanked the Boab out of the ground and slammed it back in the earth upside down and that is why today, when you see a Boab tree, it looks as if its roots are growing up in the air.” Thangool, Queensland A Boab Sunrise was featured in the: Trees group – Sept 09 Image Writing group – Sept 09 Queensland group – Sept 09 Inspired Art group – Oct 09
Best on Full Size Wandering around my cousin’s farm in Davidsonville, Maryland, I fell in love with so many images. This was taken from the inside of an old tobacco barn which we calculate to be well over a hundred years old. This image is a compilation of two shots, both my own. The barn image, RAW, taken on my Manfrotto tripod, was shot on a disappointingly gray and overcast October 29, 2009 with the Nikon D300. Shutter 1/500, aperture 5/11.0, exp 0.00, iso 1600. Sky image, a hand held jpeg, was taken August 29, 2009 with the Nikon D300, shutter 1/640, aperture f/13, exp -.67, iso 400. Lens was 18-200mm vr Nikon in both cases. After the image was combined, I created an hdr in Photomatix by duplicating the jpeg to evals of +1 and -2 in Photoshop. Lots of Photoshop tweaking including addition of 2 textures. Also available without texture: /
