I finally found the tractor I have been looking for. I saw this old antique from the road and thankfully had my camera in tow. I braved the 3 feet of snow and frigid Newfoundland winds but I finally got my shot I’d been waiting to get. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / /

I took this shot today while I was at Enniskillen Orchard in the Grose Vale region of the Hawkesbury district.. / The orchard is located on the Sydney Farm Gate Trail. It is a wonderful place and the nostalgic country-style shed really sets the scene for an orchard.. / Hopefully one day soon I will get the opportunity to photograph some of the wonderful sights that can be found in the orchard itself.. / I would definitely have to encourage anyone passing through, or living in, the Hawkesbury to drop in and try some of the local produce, it is a great place.. / I couldnt really think of a title for this one so any suggestions would be great, and as usual comments are more then welcome :) / Thanks for having a look!! My Country The love of field and coppice, / Of green and shaded lanes. / Of ordered woods and gardens / Is running in your veins, / Strong love of grey-blue distance / Brown streams and soft dim skies / I know but cannot share it, / My love is otherwise. I love a sunburnt country, / A land of sweeping plains, / Of ragged mountain ranges, / Of droughts and flooding rains. / I love her far horizons, / I love her jewel-sea, / Her beauty and her terror - / The wide brown land for me! A stark white ring-barked forest / All tragic to the moon, / The sapphire-misted mountains, / The hot gold hush of noon. / Green tangle of the brushes, / Where lithe lianas coil, / And orchids deck the tree-tops / And ferns the warm dark soil. Core of my heart, my country! / Her pitiless blue sky, / When sick at heart, around us, / We see the cattle die- / But then the grey clouds gather, / And we can bless again / The drumming of an army, / The steady, soaking rain. Core of my heart, my country! / Land of the Rainbow Gold, / For flood and fire and famine, / She pays us back threefold- / Over the thirsty paddocks, / Watch, after many days, / The filmy veil of greenness / That thickens as we gaze. An opal-hearted country, / A wilful, lavish land- / All you who have not loved her, / You will not understand- / Though earth holds many splendours, / Wherever I may die, / I know to what brown country / My homing thoughts will fly. An old abandoned Farm house in Yorkshire, a place called Crow edge, not much left now, The person i went with today told me she used to play in here when she was a child, it was empty then!! such a shame, this really was a beautiful house, more pics to follow soon of the outside.

I was chasing a hot air balloon across south east Lincolnshire trying to get close enough for a decent picture of it when I spotted some wind turbines at Deeping St Nicholas. The sun was going down so I decided to take some pictures of these instead (never did get close enough to that balloon) this is my favorite one of the series. BTW I never appreciated just how HUGE they are, I managed to walk across the fields right up to one and climbed its steps… I felt like an ant next to it.

My grandparents’ old farm is full of old buildings like this dark red barn. The stacks of wood you see are cut from nearby forest, awaiting planing into lumber to be used in new homes. I played around with this until it had something of an antique look to it. Thoughts on this process are welcome!
