I was away from my computer when I thought of the wordplay that was possible with “Ma and Pa”, and I was VERY determined to not forget it because I sooooooooo wanted to create a picture for it. I knew I already had pictures of a cat in mid-yeowl, but I had to get Thea’s help to acquire a paw shot. And here it is… a traditional pioneer portrait of Ma and Pa :) /
This photo is a dedication. Altruism focuses on a motivation to help others or a want to do good without reward. One historic figure that commonly referred to altruism is Jesus. We should seek the common good more than the private good but this is because the common good is a more desirable good for the individual. ‘You should love your neighbor as yourself’ from Leviticus 19 and Matthew 22. / CS I dedicate this photo to you. I call this photo Altruism because of your selfless act. Its clear your heart of gold is nothing less than angelic. You are a kind hearted and loving soul and we will not forget what you have done. / / Just to fill you in how this passionate sunset ties in. It is because the fire in this photo pales to the passion that is easy to see reflected this brown eyed girls peepers :eyes: Look into those eyes and you can see her kind soul, but her true beauty is easily seen in her frequent smiles. Each smile is filled with passion, zeal and love, clearly inspired by her beautiful son. That little man is very lucky to be raised by this angel. CS, they don’t make words such selfless acts. However God made a beautiful sunset I wanted to share and express how we feel. / @@PHOTO DETAILS: :firelite-photo: Photo is of a frequent location seen in many of my photos. Sister image to Too Little – Too Late Drought ravaged landscape near Bothwell, Tasmania. Storm clouds had gathered over an abadoned farmworker’s cottage, but the rain was fleeting and lasted only 10 minutes, giving way to blue skies, once again. The image of Tasmania, that many tourists see, of silver sands, sparkling blue sea, and green valleys, lush with apples and grape vines, belie the fact that much of Tasmania is in serious drought. The farms that are green lie mainly in the valleys and are drawing water from rivers and streams that are already depleted by the drought. Canon 400D 18-55 IS

An old breed of no-horn cattle are kept at the cultural museum village of Äskhult, Sweden. The farmer is wearing clothes in the fashion of the early 1800s. This bull is docile and very curious
My grandson plays FarmTown and Farmville on the internet, and he loves plowing, planting, and harvesting his crops. When he came to visit me in the country, I told him I’d take him to a real farm where there is real plowing, planting, and harvesting. We pulled up to this watermelon patch where farmers were picking the fruit and we got permission to take their picture. We even bought a luscious melon that was sweet and juicy and ripe from the field, no artificial means of rushing the crop here, just Mother Nature’s slow and easy way of seeing the crop to full maturity. What a lovely day we had visiting the farmlands and meeting the farmers. I’d like to dedicate this photo to the hard working people who produce our food and keep life on Planet Earth thriving.
I came across this old plough on a farm near Kojonup in the south west of Western Australia some 300 kms from Perth. My original photo was, somewhat naturally, in full colour but I had been reading a technique that somebody in RB had published and thought I’d give it a go. It was really very simple to do and I think it works very well

A few mornings of early fog have been bringing lots of ideas…......sadly…a cold for me came with it. / This is a field that harvested ‘alternative’ crops for several years now. Normally…we only have grains or tobacco…this farmer grows tomatoes, peppers, pumpkins and other gourds. It’s very rich for the soil and helps to strengthen future harvests as this is an old flood plain off the Missouri River in NE Kansas. / Because of it’s location, when their is a fog warning on the radio…I know this entire area will be covered in a white blanket. I had to wait till harvest was over to see anything.
