‘I’m sick of Elly the retriever getting all the attention. It’s about time you had a real dog up here…Oops gotta go. Gotta round up a few Cafe Lattes…” x Jess Dog-Kerr. – Dog photography – Africa photography / - Beach photography - Black & white photography – Dog photography – Africa photography / - Beach photography - Monotone photography
I’ve played around with my illustrations and layers of scans, found images and textures to get this one where it is.
Taken in a local area of what I term Pretty Land which has been a happy hunting ground for me over recent years with the camera – lots of paths, gated roads and easy access, with plenty to look at if you can be bothered to take the time – The nearest village is Mowsley. / Most folk miss this area by driving straight through the main road from Market Harborough to Lutterworth, yet either side of them are some of the most wonderful vistas in Leicestershire to photograph in the main light of day as opposed to early or late starts – but you do need a good old out of date OS map to find some of the paths and roads (and more ground clearance than I have under my car for some of them!)
A second landscape from the Mowsley/Laughton area of Leicestershire, UK. This image was featured as image of the day at Fotopic.net on 16th May 2008 / Not long ago, I posted this, below, from a location nearby. I love this land at this time of year. / If you like it and want to buy the pair, click this link to get the second. They look good as a pair on a wall, especially when toplit by a small bulb
Two lambs seem to be having a conversation in the spring sunshine. Dorset, England.

NZ is a country with stunning scenery, 4 million people and 40 million sheep. / The countryside is dominated by lush green pastures, hills and mountains. Winter had arrived !
Northumberland, England
As soon as I came across this lone lamb, I was reminded of the old hymn by Ira Sankey, based on Matthew 18:13…. The Ninety and Nine. There were ninety and nine that safely lay / In the shelter of the fold. / But one was out on the hills away, / Far off from the gates of gold. / Away on the mountains wild and bare. / Away from the tender Shepherd’s care. / Away from the tender Shepherd’s care. “Lord, Thou hast here Thy ninety and nine; / Are they not enough for Thee?” / But the Shepherd made answer: “This of Mine / Has wandered away from Me; / And although the road be rough and steep, / I go to the desert to find My sheep, / I go to the desert to find My sheep.” But none of the ransomed ever knew / How deep were the waters crossed; / Nor how dark was the night the Lord passed through / Ere He found His sheep that was lost. / Out in the desert He heard its cry, / Sick and helpless and ready to die; / Sick and helpless and ready to die. “Lord, whence are those blood drops all the way / That mark out the mountain’s track?” / “They were shed for one who had gone astray / Ere the Shepherd could bring him back.” / “Lord, whence are Thy hands so rent and torn?” / “They are pierced tonight by many a thorn; / They are pierced tonight by many a thorn.” And all through the mountains, thunder riven / And up from the rocky steep, / There arose a glad cry to the gate of Heaven, / “Rejoice! I have found My sheep!” / And the angels echoed around the throne, / “Rejoice, for the Lord brings back His own! / Rejoice, for the Lord brings back His own!”
The Farm is a scenic view of one of the many farms on the rural outskirts of Canberra. Behind the scenes / Often, images are born of hard work, careful planning and a lot of patience. Sometimes though, a wonderful scene will appear by chance. It was late in the day when a storm front came over forming some striking cloud formations over the pale brown landscape. The subdued light and limited colours made for a scene similar to a pastel painting. / Canon 1Ds mkIII | EF 100-400mm Artwork / The soft pastel tones and simple composition of this work make it a fantastic addition to your decor. Let The Farm be a window into a peaceful landscape as a framed print or enjoy its’ simple beauty as a canvas. © 2008 A Spence. All Rights Reserved
Droving Sheep at Albert © / Vicki Ferrari Albert, New South Wales, Australia. This was taken in the township itself, opposite the Rabbit Trap Hotel. Taken using negs back in approximately 1987. This would have to be one of my favourite photographs! I have scanned the 8X12 print and done some minor touching up (typical neg dust and scratch) with photoshop but apart from that, this image is as it is! Hope you like this! And thank you for looking (and reading!) Framed Print / (psj2)
An early morning composition looking up Deepdale Valley between Patterdale and Brothers Water in the English Lake District. The white building in the distance is Deepdale Hall, a working hill farm as well as a popular guest house nestling in the shelter of the hills. As I arrived it was so peaceful and quiet, only birdsong and bleating of the sheep on the hill farm breaking absolute silence. Nikon D100 / 18 – 70 zoom @ 46mm / F9 for 1/100 sec / CP Filter
Winter Farm. Wimpole – Jan 2009 /
Pastel on Colourfix sanded paper – 70cm x 50cm This was a commission for the chap depicted in the painting and he wanted his little dogs included as well as his prize rams, with a backdrop of his farm. This was 2006 and he had just cut his hay. (the paddock on the right). I don’t think there would be anything like this amount of growth now!
