Storm clouds drift past after rain, and this charming stone cottage in the Southern Flinders Ranges is bathed in sunlight ,gleaming crisply on a bed of bright green pasture land / Taken with Fuji S2 Pro,Nikor 24-85mm @85m
Old deserted Irish Farm. Very overgrown with major decay having set in. This has an old glass plate photographic effect.
This shot is taken in the north of Rwanda near the DR Congo border. It showcases the absurd beauty of this broken land. Known as the land of one thousand hills Rwanda is bursting at the seams. This shots is part of the ‘world’s most expensive card’ promotion initiated by John Robb. It has raised close to $700 AUD so far.
During a trip to my friends Brothers, in a small Iowa town… I captured this old Dodge sitting in his back field…

This old tractor and cart reside on a property which has been dontated to Council locally – as you can see by the sign leaning on the cart, they used to sell honey and eggs to the locals. This has been treated with a few filters in Photoshop to try for an ink/sepia wash look. Landscapes Trees Cards EOD Rusty Flowers Architecture Macro CatchAll DM

I finally found the tractor I have been looking for. I saw this old antique from the road and thankfully had my camera in tow. I braved the 3 feet of snow and frigid Newfoundland winds but I finally got my shot I’d been waiting to get. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / /
I saw this rusted frame of a bike on the borders of this wheat field, when I saw it it reminded me of the times I spent as a kid wheeling around my own bike with a hockey card in the spokes and the flag raised high on the back and I even had a streamer or two flapping in the wind off my handlebars. To me this old rusted frame symbolizes the wonderful experiences of a fantastic childhood full of laughter, smiles and fond memories, but time is our enemy and for many of us it fades our once cherished memories to distant glimmers that flicker by on rare occasions, and like this old rusted frame are soon forgotten and will eventually fade completely. / / This replaces a previous version of the image Lost & Found. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / /

Another rather sad and disturbing indication of the severity of the current drought that is ravaging the countryside and farms of Australia. Rusty Lakebed / Author: martin steinbrugger Many times life can seem like a thirsty barren land… / As though all our hopes and dreams, / Are little more than rusty grains of sand. Parched by disappointment time and time again… / Without hope life is but a severe drought, / That seems to have no end. Like clouds looming on the horizon withholding their rain… / So too, unless we let go of our past, / We can never be healed from all our pain. Apart from God we are as trees without water, / Destined too whither and die… / For God is the source of our eternal hope, / Through whom all life is meant to thrive! Inspired by Phil Thomson’s photo “Rusty Lakebed”
The Tragic History Behind These Shots / I just had to revisit the abandoned farmhouse where I shot the image The Tenant / / / / This is a view from the kitchen looking in from the outside… the windows are all beat out of the house and you cannot get to the kitchen from the inside because the floor is unstable and you’ll probably end up in the basement. So I had to improvise and go outside to get this shot. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / / More In This Series / / / / / / / / / / / / /

another reworking … truck from Santorini, farm from outback Queensland
Found this little beauty in a farm in the Numinbah Valley, Queensland, Australia. Beautiful country scenery in this area, and looks to be locked in time in the early 1900’s.. I image this to be the shack of a farm hand at some stage. I doubt it’s still habitable, although the oranges just outside the door would make for good lunches! The white in the background are clouds, the rainy day made for lots of low cloud! Canon 50D, 60mm, 16:9 crop, 60% desaturation. I quite liked the old photo theme with this shot, hense the desaturate.
