This is Hope my Lurcher, on a snowy febuary day in 2007, she wasn’t that keen on the weather but did oblige me with this quirky shot. I have another Lurcher called Grace as well as Rubicon and Renegade the Ferrets who complete the team, Hope has the nose for finding quarry and Grace has the speed to fill my freezer. Here are the two dogs playing in the snow.

Bunny is usually a term used to describe a rabbit or hare. The term is a diminutive of “bun”, a word of Scottish origin that in the 16th and 17th centuries was a pet name for rabbits, squirrels and sometimes young women or children. Rabbits are small mammals in the family Leporidae.They are sometimes affectionately known as bunnies or bunny rabbits, especially by children.There are seven different genera in the family classified as rabbits, including the European Rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus), cottontail rabbits (genus Sylvilagus; 13 species), and the Amami Rabbit (Pentalagus furnessi, an endangered species on Amami Oshima, Japan).Rabbits are clearly distinguished from the related hares in that rabbits are altricial, born blind and hairless; many also live underground in burrows or warrens. Indoor pet rabbit can live 6-12 years, they can even become good friends with cats and dogs.

It’s a mixed media piece on canvas textured paper…...i did it in response to the chilled out cows at Mullumbimby, northern New South Wales, who seem to be very laid back, i suspect they are indulging in the ‘other’ kind of grass also….... they have this real chilled look about them, and I’ve never seen cows anywhere else that have this way about them. I put it in the Casino Art Exhibition and it was the only painting that sold, every year a male school teacher goes to that show, or so the legend goes…....and purchases a piece…...it was my lucky year. Tonight I was asked if I’d ever sold a painting in a gallery…well, yes, and at exhibitions and privately. To date I believe I have sold between 30 and 40 original paintings, which I am very proud of…..in the early days 2002 I was very prolific, things have slowed down a bit with my painting now, because i am much more deliberate and take a lot of time to imbue my paintings with layers and love and depth…..it is just how i have grown as an artist, it is nice to report that there is growth along the journey…(and sales lol)!!! Somebody also has a print of these cows and loves them very much from what I understand lol

I generally am not a horse fan. Or a country girl. (Even though / I come from a long line of knife wielding half crazed Texas / Indians..) But I couldn’t help myself when I saw these two today. The kitty put its nose right up to the horse’s..I couldn’t believe it..

Sales of this TShirt ? – 1 sale so far :) / Baby Bull Production TShirt by Karin Taylor Baby Bull Production is something I created not that long ago. These pot belly pigs seem to be enjoying the barnyard mud after several days of rain in Western North Carolina. WHile out exploring in my area today, I found them on an interesting and delightful farm that specializes in therapy and animal rescue. I look forward to going back and taking more photos. The legs of a donkey, part of a white goat, and an emu can be seen in the background. There were many other varieties of farm animals and birds there as well. /

...an escape from their stalls and paddock! With their eye-catching flaxen manes and tails flowing the two full brothers, Dewey and Lewey, gallop through the snow on a brisk winter afternoon. Dewey and Lewey are Haflinger ponies a breed that originated in Austria. Kind tempered, sturdy and workmanlike they have been described as ” a prince in front, a peasant behind” .

This abstract draft horse reminds me of a work horse my Granddad had when I was a kid, which was half of the team he used to pull the hay wagon. In those days, we still harvested the hay loose with pitchforks and loaded a huge pile on a wooden wagon with iron wheels. The horse was named Giant, and he was so gentle that five of us kids used to ride him bareback at the same time with just a rope looped around his lower jaw, Indian style. FEATURED IN: /
