Storm clouds drift past after rain, and this charming stone cottage in the Southern Flinders Ranges is bathed in sunlight ,gleaming crisply on a bed of bright green pasture land / Taken with Fuji S2 Pro,Nikor 24-85mm @85m
The well worn saddle gear from an outback property.
Taken west of Albury. The clouds rolled into the right place to block the sun at just the right time.
Farmhands taking a break from baling sorghum – finding time to ‘roll out’ their lunchbreak. The circular bales attracted me as a composition subject, so I used a combination of pastel hues plus pen and ink to give an impression of hazy harvesting days in a rural Australia setting.

Visiting a cattle property out past Kilcoy, Andrew and I got up a little after 5am to be out photographing when the sun came up. / Climbing a hill, we saw a herd of horses grazing in the distance, then they all ran off. A few minutes later, we were greeted by this view coming over the hill accompanied by the thundering of hooves. They ran to us and we were surrounded by friendly, snuffling horses.
A thundering of hooves heralded the horse herd running over the hill towards us in the pre-dawn light on Old Yabba Station.
The sun sets on this old house, in more ways than one. I believe it shall soon be no more, it’s life given for a a new housing estate. No-one lives there now, but soon there’ll be hundreds of little blocks with little houses and not-so-little morgages!
I’ve played around with my illustrations and layers of scans, found images and textures to get this one where it is.
Its been described as Lion King country!
I lived 45 kilometres from the nearest town when I took this, I saw the unexpected mob approaching from my kitchen window. Thank you for looking. /

I love going out to the Wisemans Ferry area, esp. on a crisp wintery morning. In this case the fog was very heavy and it took a long time to lift, hence the title “Good morning sunshine”. Whilst competing in a Rogaine in SW Western Australia my mate and I stumbled upon a deserted farmhouse and out buildings. Because we were camping overnight in roughly the same area I managed to get back the next morning to get a few shots. I only hope I can find my way back there as there are lots of shots to be made.
I was driving along side some of the many paddocks that frequent my area (the Hawkesbury area) when I came across this cow, the light seemed to be pretty decent and seeing as how the cow was a few metres away I decided it would be a good opportunity to test out my new 55-200mm lens.. / The cow just would not look at me (unusual for a cow) and then finally it decided to sneak a glance so I snapped the shutter and this was the result.. / Post processing involved adjusting the exposure, contrast and levels, and then applying a vignette and a monochrome filter. / I havent uploaded anything for quite some time so I decided to throw this image to the wind and see if it flies or crashes and burns.. / As per usual comments and critiquing are more than welcome, and thanks very much for taking a look! Listen to this song here Harmlessly passing your time in the grassland away; / Only dimly aware of a certain unease in the air. / You better watch out, / There may be dogs about / Ive looked over jordan, and I have seen / Things are not what they seem. What do you get for pretending the dangers not real. / Meek and obedient you follow the leader / Down well trodden corridors into the valley of steel. / What a surprise! / A look of terminal shock in your eyes. / Now things are really what they seem. / No, this is no bad dream. The lord is my shepherd, I shall not want / He makes me down to lie / Through pastures green he leadeth me the silent waters by. / With bright knives he releaseth my soul. / He maketh me to hang on hooks in high places. / He converteth me to lamb cutlets, / For lo, he hath great power, and great hunger. / When cometh the day we lowly ones, / Through quiet reflection, and great dedication / Master the art of karate, / Lo, we shall rise up, / And then well make the buggers eyes water. Bleating and babbling we fell on his neck with a scream. / Wave upon wave of demented avengers / March cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream. Have you heard the news? / The dogs are dead! / You better stay home / And do as youre told. / Get out of the road if you want to grow old. Pink Floyd
