Abandoned couch in Northcote.
This is a copy of a Mod that Rain did for me a long time ago. I can’t find the Original so I have tried my best to emulate what she did for me :) See HIS

This is the old Westvale Barn… it was built over 100 years ago and was in use until only a few years past. Now it is scheduled for the wrecking ball. / / Canon 400d /

Fashion meets…strong bones? / This milk cap from my family’s old farm was just begging to be put on a T-shirt.
I finally found the tractor I have been looking for. I saw this old antique from the road and thankfully had my camera in tow. I braved the 3 feet of snow and frigid Newfoundland winds but I finally got my shot I’d been waiting to get. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / /

This shot is of one of the bedrooms in the old farmhouse. This was a very creepy and surreal scene. ( Delegate River ) Triticale predominantly used for stock food, although there is increasing interest in using triticale flour in a range of food products. It is high in natural fibre and has a distinct nutty, aromatic and naturally sweet flavour. /
An HDR photo of the sun setting through the window of this old house found in rural Saskatchewan. I have driven by this old house on several occasions but have never stopped to photograph it. I couldn’t have timed it better…the sun could be seen setting through the window of the house…captivating! I found another abandoned farm house yesterday… everything was left as it was. There were still books in the bookcase and dishes in the cupboard. I am a little nervous on entering this one because it is REALLY deteriorated. / / / You never know what lurks in the shadows… / / Canon 400D w/ Canon 10-22mm lens / 3 shots (raw) / Photomatix / Lightroom & cs3 / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / / BEST VIEWED LARGER / / Click HERE for more of my Series on abandonment / / / / Click HERE for more of my Series on abandonment / / .

Best Viewed Full Size Our rural heritage of small family-owned farms is teetering on the edge of extinction, so they tell us, and as I drive the haunts of my childhood the visions of what were commonplace years back are slowly falling into disuse and disrepair, or worse, being replaced by subdivisions. It’s always a joy to discover another one … no matter what condition it’s in. Image take in Davidsonville, Maryland on May 21, 2009 with the Nikon D40x and the 18-200mm vr Nikon/Nikkor lens with the cp filter. Post processing lncluded hdr from a single hand-held image at +/- 2 eval, no tripod. Sky darkened in Photoshop.

Best Viewed On Full Size It’s got that “Nobody’s Home” look … Back in the day when we wanted to visit, we tightened up our pincurls, tied our robes tight, slipped into our slippers, grabbed our coffee and walked next door. Although this wonderful old abandoned farm house is stuck out in the middle of (apparent) nowhere … it’s right smack dab ON route 30 just a bit west of Chambersburg, PA … and I like to think that the farm wives did visit back and forth, too. Image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens on a bright and sunny, blue-skied July 12, 2009. Shutter 1/640, aperture f/11.0, exp -.33, iso 500. Post included Phun With Photoshop, levels, dodging, burning, selective coloring, in other words, the works, then addition of textures. Featured in Friends of Bangor and North Down Camera Club, Northern Ireland November 21, 2009. / Featured in Out of the Past November 12, 2009. Best on Full Size Wandering around my cousin’s farm in Davidsonville, Maryland, I fell in love with so many images. This was taken from the inside of an old tobacco barn which we calculate to be well over a hundred years old. This image is a compilation of two shots, both my own. The barn image, RAW, taken on my Manfrotto tripod, was shot on a disappointingly gray and overcast October 29, 2009 with the Nikon D300. Shutter 1/500, aperture f/11.0, exp 0.00, iso 1600. Sky image, a hand held jpeg, was taken August 29, 2009 with the Nikon D300, shutter 1/640, aperture f/13, exp -.67, iso 400. Lens was 18-200mm vr Nikon in both cases. After the image was combined, I created an hdr in Photomatix by duplicating the jpeg to evals of +1 and -2 in Photoshop. Lots of Photoshop tweaking including addition of 2 textures.
