Ranch fence in California, USA. North of Los Angeles about 100 miles, in the Tehachapi mountains.
This shot is taken in the north of Rwanda near the DR Congo border. It showcases the absurd beauty of this broken land. Known as the land of one thousand hills Rwanda is bursting at the seams. This shots is part of the ‘world’s most expensive card’ promotion initiated by John Robb. It has raised close to $700 AUD so far.
Aging structure in the old town of Bear, ID.
About and hour and a half south of Melbourne lies Inverloch. A fishing and boating town it is surrounded by green rolling hills and beautiful farmland. It seems it’s one of the few places in Victoria where it still rains. / – Dog photography – Africa photography / - Beach photography - Black & white photography – Dog photography – Africa photography / - Beach photography - Monotone photography

A stunning Scottish sunset behind a wind farm near Thurso on Scotlands North coast. The low lying fog really sets the turbines off. One of my favourites.

A winter panorama shot of the valley Valldal on the west coast of Norway, taken during the christmas holiday. Stitched together of 15 pictures. Post-processing: / Stitched some pictures together, obviously. Fixed the contrast with curves, added a lighter curve only on the lower part as the valley was pretty dark, and the mountain tops really light. Added two black and white layers set to hard light (140%), mainly on the sky and the mountain tops.

Our precious Virunga Mountain Gorillas in the Democratic Congo Republic near the Rwandan border in Africa, are extremely endangered mainly due to warfare, charcoal farmers and poaching; All dangers imposed by Man. Rustic old truck (1940’s) on farm in North Carolina mountains. / PS…... Since posting this, I have had some inquries asking what Popeye has to do with this photo. Many years ago, in the Southeastern US and maybe other areas, a vehicle that had only one headlight shining was called a “Popeye.” Hope that explains it a little better. /
Lost in Utah would have been a more apt title after the GPS affectionately known as “Dorothy” lead me to a graveyard instead of a lake lol. I discovered some gorgeous countryside along route. There is nothing better than getting lost :))
MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD / Best viewed large. / / / / “MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD” was featured in the group COUNTRY ROADS/AROUND THE WORLD / / / / “MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD” was featured in the group NATURAL COLOR AND LIGHT / / / This is a recent photo of my favorite country road! It is located in Flatwoods, Kentucky, in Greenup County, which lies in the northeastern part of the bluegrass state. Many of my relatives live in or just outside of Flatwoods, and my Dad built this one. / / The scenery from this road is almost surreal, it is so beautiful. Surrounding this road are country farms, barns and old churches. This road winds around a gorgeous mountain cloaked with a variety of lush trees and evergreens, whose leaves are radiant in the Fall of the year with brilliant shades of yellow, orange, red, brown and green. / / At the top of the mountain is the end of this magnificent road, which leads to a private, gated mansion that overlooks the entire county. It is very quiet and peaceful there, and everything, including time, seems to stand still on this beautiful road. It is a breath-taking view from the very top, and this is truly my favorite country road!.. / / / To read and learn more about this special country road, / go to:COUNTRY ROAD

An early morning composition looking up Deepdale Valley between Patterdale and Brothers Water in the English Lake District. The white building in the distance is Deepdale Hall, a working hill farm as well as a popular guest house nestling in the shelter of the hills. As I arrived it was so peaceful and quiet, only birdsong and bleating of the sheep on the hill farm breaking absolute silence. Nikon D100 / 18 – 70 zoom @ 46mm / F9 for 1/100 sec / CP Filter
