  • If Only
    by jcmontgomery

Would we burn so hard, so bright? Would we consume the world around us as much as each other?

What one dearly wants is usually what one should, never ever have. If only…. If only ones passion, ones unquenchable lust, would come without causing so much pain to others. If only…. If only ones heart did not belong to another when it finally falls in love. Oh yes. If only. Note: This is a work of fiction. Merely a musing, a fantasy, a thought.

  • A life never lived with a perfect stranger
    by Symmetry44

Memories of a perfect stranger / Another life, another time

Thinking I shouldn’t be posting this because it’s not very good, but what the hell. I just found it buried away with about 100 other poems. / Written way back when I first started writing, this piece actually sort of sucks I think, but I liked the visual concept as it recedes down into the singular lonely aspect of the self. I’d written it upon having seen a woman one day and thinking to myself how absolutely beautiful she was. I had also noticed that she had been noticing me. / Yet as the thought had entered my mind to approach this lovely lady so too had the fear in me relinquished any such notion. It’s sort of one of those moments you look back on with regret and wonder what might have been. It as well makes me wonder if she herself hadn’t in the end perhaps ended up with the same regrets in not having approached me.

  • Story - A Vision from the Ocean
    by Damian

Her voice called to me in the night, musical and haunting; calling from beyond the crash of the surf.

  • One In Three
    by BySilent

In today’s world there are estimated 5,000 nuclear warheads in the United States arsenal alone

In today’s world there are estimated 5,000 nuclear warheads in the United States arsenal alone. One out of three warheads is past their “expected” life expectancy and as time goes on pose extreme environmental issues as to where to put them as they are rotated out of the arsenal. Not to mention that the delivery systems may be brittle due to rusted decay, corrosion, and other maladies of age.

I have been inspired to jot a few lines down yet again when I saw this beautiful picture from CarrieGlenn brilliant collection and again like a lot of work on RB, I absolutely fell in love with it. It has a mysterious beauty about it a natural innocents. It is almost as though Carrie puts a part of herself into her art with every brush stroke she lays on canvas or with every manipulation she makes in a creative Photoshop package. And I could go on and on writing but these short few lines is enough for now. It started my mind off on yet another writing journey and this is the combined efforts from Carrie and me. Thank you for looking at our collaboration please feel free to comment on her beautiful artwork and my writing if you have the time. Thank you.
