Inspired by drjones, and Fever Ray’s song When I grow Up and the Lost in Space group / and to my son Brandon who pictured the infant long before he knew the name = ) The various inspirations for this picture morphed into my interest in bringing a little fantasy together with reality, genetically, biochemically… / more simply stated : / a radically atlered view into the last stage of cell division. When I was in my biology class, my mind used to wander, and instead of focusing on things on the screen before me as they were, my mind weaved mystical beings and possibilities around them…it was the only way I could try to memorize some of the stuff.
The ancients now return to Earth / From home so far away / Observe the work that they gave birth / See what it is today / / The seed they left so long ago / Planted in ancient seas / Has had millenniums to grow / Become the Earth’s trustees / / Experiment success or not / The ancients decide now / Are we the outcome that they sought / Or have they come to plow / / So humble in our arrogance / Of things we do not know / Is all Earth’s life just happenstance? / Or life ancients bestow? / / This artwork was inspired by a current scientific hypothesis that our genetic material may have arrived on earth from space, hitch-hiking on a meteorite or comet. This artwork portrays that hypothesis, but instead the genetic material was actually brought to earth by an advanced civilization as an experiment. In the artwork, these beings return to observe the outcome of their experiment. The city-sized, alien ships both reflect and conduct existing natural light to cloak themselves from discovery. / / I just love sci-fi!... or is it sci-fi?? / / The original is 6000×4800 pixels at 300 pixels per inch. This was programmed and rendered by me from scratch in POV-Ray. This artwork is exactly as rendered without any post-processing. Because the original is so large and difficult to see over the internet, I have included a few detail cutaways below. / / / / / / / /
Everything within our known universe is composed of energy and that energy manifests itself in a plethora of forms of outstanding beauty. Do we tend to speed through our existence missing the beauty that surrounds us. Many faiths describe the intense beauty found within deep meditation which is said to touch the essence of that universal power which surprisingly enough is found within. I believe they have glimpsed a view of the energy found upon the cosmic seat of consciousness at the inner core of creation. Who knows if we slow down for just a moment and stop and look, we might find a view which will take our breath away.
On the rugged planet of Talmud III the first explorers reported back to Earth that this world was uninhabited and so was ripe for colonization. / But then the second survey team arrived looking for city sites and discovered this tower. / And as been determined that this is the only ( native ) structure on the entire planet. The structure gives off a strange light, almost a glow. / And to add to the mystery of the tower, the “stone” used in the construction is not native to Talmud III. / It as been determinded also through carbon dating, to be more the 12,000 yrs old.
On Hadees Prime in the Fire nebula, lies the only source of Fire Ore known. / The ore is used in the production of Time Warp engines, for some reason the metal made from this ore reacts with time breaking it down into segments. / This is a shot of the Nautilas Line, the line “floats” on the ore which in some cases is so close to the surface,it glows. / The do say that riding the ore trains, is a real time trip!
Here’s another old postcard of Galveron City, when they take these pics they always seem to want nothing in them like people or transportation. / I guess this one got through, must have been a Monday, this kinda shows the flood and the space station, the moons, bit of everything. / Also this as a bit more color, must be better ink!. I have a whole box of these, I’ll try to find some interesting ones.
painting of orion from my book the alkara keepers / watercolor on fabriano 8.5×11 In a galaxy dominated by the Triaxan Empire, the last remnants of the Helassian Federation are the only resistance to a dark future ruled by Emperor Draegus. Striving for ultimate power, Draegus will stop at nothing to become the Apex, the pinnacle of all life. With the promise of peace he attended the Unus festival, where all Alkarans gathered as one. With the Alkara Keepers at their most vulnerable, Draegus massacred the only obstacle that might stand in his way. Orion, High Lord of the Helassian Federation and the last of the Alkara Keepers leads in exile. Forced to take his father’s place, he fights against the dictator that destroyed everything he knew. Sillel, the daughter of Emperor Dragus, awakens from her father’s prison and Orion discovers that he is no longer alone. The Alkara Keepers follows Sillel’s awakening to life and love as Orion struggles to find his destiny and rebuild what Draegus ripped apart. / http://www.alkarakeepers.com/
We caught this amazing sight later in the morning, huge air creatures slowly heading out to sea in formation, it took some time to find and observe the next flock, but they also seem to transport passengers. They hold to a schedule, landing in the middle of the island periodically where hundreds of assorted smaller beings have been waiting to hurry aboard, then slowly ascend as a group and deliver their charges to another place, like commuters! / Below is a shot of some kind of miniature moisture delivery creatures, they perch on the rocks down by the water’s edge, and condense moisture out of the air in their funnels, then they spin their little propellers and lift off: These tiny fliers are small as hummingbirds, and whey they ‘copter to their designated shrubs, they start spinning their bodies until the moisture they’ve collected starts to spray out the top, and sprinkle onto the plants around them. They go back to the water’s edge, wait until they’re refilled, and proceed to find the next grove scheduled to be watered. The sounds they make are quite harmonious, like they’re all humming the same song while they work!

”... and what if there were two / around a fairer sun?” ........... ( r.e.m.) Either there had been a major glitch in Navigation and the temporal conduit had opened in the wrong location, or everything Miranda thought she knew about the planet Mars 200-hundred million years ago was seriously incorrect! (I did this image exclusively in Adobe CS2. Except for the stars and Saturn, all elements were taken from my photos. The water was created using Flood from Flaming Pear.) The idea in this case was not a “surreal” looking image—more like a postcard from Beyond Reality. FEATURED in BITS and PIECES
