Many people believe that Peregrine Squadron were nothing more than a trumped up aerial display team, contributing little to the defense of the country. And this view is supported by their lack of appearance in any military historical accounts. But Peregrine Squadron had a long and unmatched covert mission record. A record that only the Prime Minister and a few select individuals from the secret service had any knowledge of. The image shows among others; a rifleman, a grenadier and a bio-weapons expert.
I just uploaded this new scan from my work!! I just completed this mixed media piece. The image size is 14×18 inches. I used archival ink and derwent graphitint watercolor pencils. This is drawn on illustration board and took many hours. I completed the border over a year ago and could not decide what I wanted to put in the middle. I was originally going to call this drawing “If I Could Help Design An Antelope” but as I finished it I decided that it had an old world feeling to it and the name “Paradise” seemed to fit. you will not see this species anywhere as I dreamed it up:) Any proceeds from the sale of prints and cards from RB will be donated to The Philadelphis Mission. You may view their contact info. on my front page. Thanks for looking!! You can also purchase this design on authentic postage stamps at www.zazzle.com/catherinehowell

pencil on paper (Arches) drawing – image size: 30” wide x 22” high (ORIGINAL SOLD) The title is a play on the word and the physicality of the drawing itself. If you turn this drawing on each side, and upside down, you will see the same face looking at you. (All ways) It also is a memorial – to commemorate some friends and family in my life who passed on but who I’ll remember and want noted for “always”. There are names in the trees and bark, and there is even a tiny little poem in the grass. Good luck finding it. I can only when looking at the original. It says: “The purpose of love and art are the same – to stop the clock.” (You can see the original framed drawing on the wall behind me at one of my solo shows a few years ago.) / AND, now available as a mug at Zazzle: / Always mug /
Pencil on paper (arches) drawing (ORIGINAL ON HOLD) This is about having a lot to say but being cut off from being able to say it. That’s why her hair is so noisy. (grin) I’m serious! As a funky T / As a framed T / AND, as a mug if you pop over to Zazzle: /
pencil on paper (Stonehenge) drawing – 22×22” – ORIGINAL SOLD / Signed and numbered limited-edition prints in two sizes are available at cynthia’s store There are so many stories to tell about this piece – wild coincidences, terrible tragedy and ultimate redemption. / I still don’t know if I can tell them all here now, but if there is one take-away to be had, it’s of the power of vulnerability and trust in oneself in the face of daunting odds… / I’ve included a not so great shot of me with the original. I had it framed so it was floating on suede. Here it is after receiving a Best of Show honor along with “Ennead”. detailed version of Event at RedBubble Please check out the numerous T’s with this drawing featured in my clothing section. /
colored pencil, pencil on watercolor paper drawing – image size is 16.5” wide x 22.5” high (archival matted and framed original for sale – please email me for details) I don’t know where to hang this one in my house right now because here in Wisconsin we are so very tired of seeing and feeling cold weather. It’s tucked in my dining room…
pencil on paper (taken from a pad of “drawing” paper from the early 80’s) drawing Another oldie! / Ah, those big eyes I was obsessed with BACK THEN. / Well, friends tease me and say it will be considered one of my “periods”. What you can’t see is that there is a whole top layer of trees that were drawn on the black background and when you look at this from other angles, they are visible – just quietly – like a subtle varnish. This is all about different phases of life borrowing the term of growing to fullness, or “waxing” of the moon. / My name actually means: Of the moon – or lunatic – you pick which fits. hahha! (Original for sale. Email for serious queries.) / You can see it behind me in this overexposed shot from a solo show I had: /

pencil on paper (arches) drawing ORIGINAL SOLD Here is a shot of it where it took honors at an exhibition along with its sister/brother, Messenger (in sweet memory of Isabella Grace Torroll who was being breastfed by her caring mother, Beth Rose, while I was doing a lot of this drawing) Since this is a round image, it doesn’t lend itself easily to some of the products. Please pop over here / for a cropped version of this image that will. IF interested in a T-shirt, please visit my Clothing section: / /
Coloured Pencil and Ink on 280 gsm Glass Ivory Paper - / (40cm x 60cm) Worked on this one for over a week, through the wee small hours of the mornings. All my art is cathartic, it’s how I balance my life, creating is my reason to go on. When I’m up I create, when I’m down I create, creativity is my balance. I did this as one of my first experiments into coloured pencil art, and found the whole ‘colouring in’ process so very relaxing and calming. I couldn’t help but feel happyness and joy while doing this. I spent every moment I could as a child, laying on my tummy, drawing, colouring. Nothing has changed, I’m still laying on my tummy, drawing, colouring (lol) Views: 703 as at 25-11-2009 / Favourites: 38 as at 25-11-2009 FEATURED in ‘Coloured Pencil Art’ (June 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Fantastic Primitive Art’(June 2009) / FEATURED in ‘First Things’ (June 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Hand Drawn or Painted Art of Happiness & Joy’ (June 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Freedom to Shine’ (June 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Fantastic Primitive Art’ (July 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Colour Me a Rainbow’ (July 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Creative Cards’ (July 2009) / FEATURED In ‘Globes, Spheres and Curves’ (July 2009) / FEATURED in ‘The New Beat Generation’ (August 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Spectacular Spirals’ August, 2009 / FEATURED in ‘Healing through Art’ November, 2009 / FEATURED in ‘Oh so emotional (happy)’ November, 2009 / FEATURED in ‘Healing through art (HTA)’ November, 2009 /

This is what I used to do way back when I actually had a life. It’s about 30×40 inches and done in color pencil on rives paper.
Graphite on sketch paper. Actually not humongous, unlike my other drawings.
