This is my version of Mermaid inspired by the myth…
As you may recall from the childrens’ story of Snow White she died because of the evil queen and here she is awaiting the kiss from her Prince…in terms of Christianity, the question is asked, ‘death, where is thy sting’ and the answer is Jesus, our prince, the way, the truth, and the life…or, we might also look at this as a young woman before the ‘breath of life’ was given to her…photo by Pat, added effects by Ashley using a program called Twisted Brush.
22 minute long exposure over the hills of Oregon.
“From whence then hast Thou that living water?” John 4:11 This painting was inspired by the moving devotions penned and published by Oswald Chambers in the early 1900’s. His powerful book, My Utmost for His Highest, continues to touch my life and draw me closer to Jesus. I hope that this art and verse do the same for you! Read the devotional from My Utmost For His Highest that inspired this work. Impoverished Ministry Of Jesus, VerseVisions® Art; John 4:11. Mark Lawrence, 2008. A being lost in the reality around it, seeking what is real, once being a part of the imaginative. not much i can say other then that….
(BEST VIEWED LARGE) Everything ahead: / The adventure begins! / Life – both joy and sorrow, / The losses and the wins. Upon your dreams you’ll float, / A leaf on the water. / Hold to your course, my child. / Live them all, my daughter! This photo manipulation features my daughter, Fairlight. All photos and textures are my own (oh, plus one I borrowed from Jamie). Multiple layers were used to blend together my photo of the leaf floating in water, Jamie’s great water texture, my image of Fairlight, and a couple layers of my grunge textures. / / I think this would make a good card to give anyone starting on a new venture, for someone graduating, or someone beginning a new career. I hope people will find this work inspiring. /
