Inspired by god(?) knows what I took about three evenings to complete this drawing. The idea started with the left part, wanting to create some dramatic poses, but eventually got some more symbolic features… Full scan can be seen at: http://www.bruinevloot.nl/sebastiaan Indian ink on Studio Art 160Gr/m2 sketchpaper. about 40×30 cm or 16 by 12 inches… 2008. The Black King-Rook’s Pawn (The Spawn) / Artist: Simon Sherry / Biography: Danny You will find them stationed around the pens of the monolith and they are used to maintain the health and well being of the King’s favourite beast. Crab-like creatures, they are used during times of inactivity as cleaning device for the Monolith, keeping it free of fleas and other parasites. Initially able to launch a longer-range assault by hurling highly-volatile Monolith dung from their excretion glands, their effectiveness is soon reduced to that of foot soldiers and cannon fodder during battle. /

Soo I got alittle frustrated with all the smoke here in southern California, and noticed ash all over my patio….so decided to paint with it. / Just sad to see alll those trees and homes gone, and decided there must be some good somewhere from all this disaster and 2 lost firemen.
