I didn’t know what to call this picture so I chose the name ‘Fangorn Fanny’. It’s an infrared with a slight colour shift. The original picture was strange but with the colour shift it might be a picture from Fangorn itself.

The common house finch is the bird which represents the letter F in my growing gallery of alphabet birds. This is a card which could be sent to a bird lover by the name of Frank, Frankie, Fred, Freddie, Frances, Fran, Franny, Fanny, Felipe, Fenton, Flora, Fay, Forrest: that person who is fantastic, faithful, focused, fit, fascinating, forgiving, first-class, felicitous!

While searching for Farken, a lady called me and said she found a ferret she gave to a friend who had her own ferrets. I did not want to take someone elses ferret so I went to have a look at the young ferrets that this lady had which she felt she could not find homes for as they were already 4 mths old and had barely been handled by humans. Fanny was in a bird cage with 5 other ferrets, and she had another 7 adults in a big cage outside. Fanny was the smallest and the cutest but as soon as I picked her up she bit me very hard. She had probably been dropped or hit the few times she had been picked up. I saw it as a challenge and she is now much improved after 3 months with us. She still does not like to be picked up but she happily climbs all over you and if she goes to bite, she stops as soon as I say a firm NO and I thank her by putting her down as that is what she wants. She is what they call a cinnamon but I have also heard this colour refered to as a champagne, you can see she is more of an apricot colour, very pretty.

My Birman Frank being a bird….

This is one I was saving for a Ferret Calendar but have changed my mind now on the style of Calendar I want to do. These two photos were taken on the same day, only about 2 hours apart. Play is closely monitored and as soon as we tell the dogs to let go, Frodo jumps up and bites them on the ears.

This was going to be for my Ferret Calendar, Frodo was dressed up as Santa and Fanny was the little girl about to sit on his lap.
