On a chilly Winters’ night, while watching the New Moons’ darkened night sky, Magi jumped into my lap with a twinkle in her eyes. As familiars do tell with whiskers like antennae, she motioned in the direction of the night riding stick, rubbing against it to bring it alive. A most beautiful and inviting chill in the air, beckoned me to envelop myself in an emerald green cloak and outside I dashed, stick in hand and on cue. / The stars were a glimmer, while the night birds were hooting a hauntingly levitating serenade; a few strokes upon the knotted wood and words to liven the straw, soon to straddle mount this sweeping tool, and rise above the clouds. / A broom with a view of wondrous eternal nights dreams, while I look below to the twinkling earth lights glowing so bright. I fly up into the heavens to celebrate Luna’s cyclic new year, where possibilities are endlessly unfolding. Dancing with the stars, I always acknowledge each constellation that I happen upon. This night it’s Aquarius, the water bearer, in luminous delight – I graciously chant thanks to her primordial waters poured into formless potentiality upon the material world in regeneration below. / Surrounded in celestial beauty, I soon cross dawn’s horizon to witness an ecliptical Sun, in another hemisphere, giddy with excitement and smiling ear to ear. This journey’s always timeless, but being so far from home I’ve strayed, only to encounter others’ flying to witness the Suns rays. Greetings of peace and love felt deeply, but never spoken aloud, we pass each other in the days’ night, so magic is not broken. / A tugging upon my cloak gives message to go back whilst under the cover of darkness, spinning webs of dreams amongst the stars, who have influenced my being since birth and never lost. Peeking in on long distance friends with wishes of peaceful dreams, soon I’m hovering overhead our humble abode, so blessed. / A quick jaunt up the river, to fondly watch my four-legged friends forage in the foggy cover of night, I bid them safe passage from humans’ meaning harm and head back home in haste. Upon arrival, an owl sister perches with me upon the broom, as we lower to the ground – when my feet touch terra firma she looks deeply into thine eyes, we gaze within each others flights of the night, as if only to share. The broom stands alone with her atop until the quickening ends, she flies away, the stick falls to the ground and returns to its inanimate form. / January’s end will soon pass and beginnings unfold, my journey is complete…for now. Until the next flight of fancy to the infinite possibilities of my imagination calls me home again. / ©tkrosevear 2/7/2009 This is a photograph of me in an emerald green cloak with my trusty broom, edited in photoshop7 with redfield plug-in fractilius. The marble city
... maybe I have never looked at cherry trees closely enough … or maybe I found a particularly quirky one :) ... this particular fella, clad in a mass of pink blossoms, had fancy twirls at the ends of some of his branches! Well what a delight :) As if the pink dress isn’t already spectacular enough – such fancy detail too :) (taken 21.03.2009 – Essex, UK) All proceeds from sales of this image to be donated to Cancer Research UK Featured and won the spring challenge in Art For charity 16.04.2009 What an honour! Just a little fun with a bluebird photo, a bit of whimsy and fantasy.
This male house finch was sitting under the bird bath on my patio, trying to keep dry on this rainy December 1st day. I shot this image through the patio doors and then played around with layers and filters to achieve this end result. Thought I’d give him a festive look as the Christmas season begins to unfold. This is also available as a Christmas card; if you are interested, let me know and I’ll make the holiday version accessible to you.
A glass of bubbly,,,, fancied up!! I set a shiny red wine bag behind the glass,,, in half vertically…..and the red is reflected on the opposite side of the glass… Adjusted color channels ,,, multi asjustments in curves,,, and boosted the contrast,, Looks purely festive !!!!!
