Here are my 3 playing at the beach during a storm. I’ve had a bit of a play with colours and liked the end result. I find this quite dreamy and surreal almost.
Yes, they are my feet and I’m relaxing on the beach watching the kids play in the water. I gave this image some texture and it reminds me of a very lazy, Aussie summer’s day at the beach.
My son, Davin. Just turned 2 in September.
after a long day fishing and playing we sat here on the jetty at Kingfisher Bay to watch the sun set on a beautiful day…

To me, this photo symbolizes the beautiful journey of a father and son through life.. Silhouettes are my favorite thing to capture, there is so much emotion without even seeing facial expressions.

Here I have captured my hubby watching the children while they play in the water during a sunset.

Here (again) is my little girl and my hubby.. He was carrying her because she wanted cuddles as she was cold..
My origami calendar I folded the mother duck out of trace paper around the time I saw ducklings on the way to work; can read about that here. I can’t remember how big the paper was; I believe 13×13mm. The two little ducklings in the centre were folded from 6×6mm pieces of trace paper while the little one at the back was folded from a 5×5mm piece of trace paper. I know mother duck is just behind the 4cm mark, but the duckling at the back is infront of the 1cm mark, hence the duck family is a 3cm spread ^ _ ^ New version added August 21, 2008 / Looks great on a card! This will be the last origami piece I post before heading off to Rome; and I will unlikely be doing anymore while I’m in school. I’m not fooling around; I made these ducks before in the first version of “3cm Family Swim” as shown above; and remember I said I may redo that shot at some point? I’ll still keep the other one up though. In this coloured version I coloured the water and sky and placed a transparent ruler over the water. This one has one less duckling than the previous one (I laid off the little guy who wouldn’t raise his bum :P) Every duck was folded from trace paper; mommy duck was folded from a 15×15mm piece, the middle one was 6×6mm, and the little one at the back 5×5mm. Cygnet II is a unique black & white portrait featuring a Cygnet with its family in Commonwealth Park, Canberra. Behind the scenes / Spring is a time to celebrate new life and new beginnings as we emerge from the cold gloom of Winter. In Canberra, the Floriade festival is an annual celebration of Spring, attracting over 300,000 visitors every year. Aside from enjoying the colourful floral displays, visitors are greeted every year by Commonwealth Park’s resident Swans who, like proud parents, do laps of the park’s lake showing off their Cygnets. I like the unique composition of this portrait, with the Swan and cygnet out of focus in the foreground adding depth to the image. / Canon 1Ds mkIII | EF 100-400mm Artwork / This is a striking and unique portrait that is sure to make a fantastic addition to your home. Ideal as a framed fine quality print or canvas, let this heart-warming celebration of new life become a focal point in your home. © 2008 A Spence. All Rights Reserved

/ pencil drawing of beachcombers / Beachcombers / a little drawing I created by hand a few weeks ago, I’ve just completed painting this one digitally, in time for Mother’s Day in Australia which falls on May 10 (just happens to be my birthday too :) Here’s the before shot: / / Karin (myself) and Sal (my mum) at Yamba on holiday in 1968
/ Medium Size Print/Cherry Frame/Off White Matt Watercolour crayons, watercolour pencils, faber castell pencils, ink, acrylic, wax, gesso acrylic, chalk pastel, pen, charcoal on paper This began as a drawing while on holiday at an island resort, it’s one of those paintings that seemed to have a mind of it’s own, and wanted to be painted a certain way…even though I had different ideas, this is the end result. LOL I was originally going to colour her very gently with wax and soft pastels…but she became more and more vibrant as I went along. Perhaps the colouring says something of how vibrant we become when we are well rested, balanced and relaxed.

Here is a re-worked image of my little girl and my husband which was on RB a while ago.. I keep coming back to it so finally decided to play with it and here it is… I originally had this image in colour but got some great advice from a fellow bubbler to try it in b&w so I did…... This image was taken when my little girl fell over on the rocks and hurt her knees and her daddy gave her a piggy back to the car before the storm came.
Yesterday we went fishing, all eleven of us and some friends. At one stage I asked Johnny (11) to carry Reilly (10 months) back to where we were picnicing. This is so typical of how Johnny carries Reilly most of the time, and Reilly just loves it. Can’t think why. ( : Anyway, I’m just glad to have captured this moment, their relationship continuously delights me.
