Tomorrow, I leave for a week long journey to Colorado. I hope to take some great photographs while out there. However, while there, I will not have access to a computer. I will be jonesing for my daily fix of the bubble. I will be desperately searching for technology dealer with access to a little bubble mid-week or so in order to view some of the fabulous work that all of you are putting up daily. I will be returning in a week. I may have to seclude myself in my office to mainline bubble for days. My family will have to tear me away and forcefully admit me into bubble rehab. Over the next couple of weeks my time on RB will be much shorter. We leave for Santa Fe tomorrow to check on the tenants from hell. I’m back 2 days then it’s off to Kansas to see my 89 year old mother and celebrate Homecoming in Fredonia. My mom doesn’t have a computer. Let alone internet! I’ll have to check my email from the local library.

Just thought I’d send a quick shout saying I’ve arrived in Rome yesterday safely. Hehe, this art community is like a family; my parents had asked me to e-mail them ASAP once I arrived in Rome. My landlady has asked me to be very careful because I’m very young and Italy can be dangerous (I wonder if she knows how old I really am – I’m a shorty so I tend to look younger than my actual age). She tells me I should get a cell phone so I can call her if I’m in trouble outside, and to never come back home by myself late at night (although considering the nature of my program of study and where I’m living, I doubt I can avoid that) etc. etc… I have a lot on my plate now and need time to get used to living here; but for now I thought I should also inform my RB “family” that I have arrived safely; and thanks to all of you who bid me your farewell wishes :) Ciao!

I know you all knew I wasn’t feeling well. After a week of that, I’m 100% better! I then, had a friend, Carol, come to visit from Ohio and that took another 4/5 days which was wonderful!!! Her visiting always cheers me up as I don’t really have anyone to visit with or whatever here. So any company just about is good company. But…she is a high school friend so that was extra special. / Then, me, my daughter and her 2 girls took Carol back to Ohio as she flew in for her visit. It was a quick visit for us but manage to see almost all my family. And get this…I’ve got my first GREAT GRANDAUGHTER!!! Yes….I feel officially old now but she is sooooo beautiful!!! I also got to see my new great niece!!! This visit was all about the new babies it seems and I will post a few pics for you all to see. They are both beautiful and well worth the drive there to see. / So I have been pretty busy and wanted you all to know I haven’t forgot my RB friends!!!! I’ll do my best to get caught up the next couple days after all the unpacking, tons of laundry, etc….get caught up too….lol!!! / Thanks for understanding and sorry I didn’t get a chance to let you all know ahead of time I wouldn’t be around.

Through my cyber travels i have come across many photographers work that has been stolen and used without their knowledge / And just recently i have found a site that tracks back photos and shows where they are being used on the net / http://tineye.com/ / you simply enter the image address (URL) or choose an image from your HD and the site looks for it in their archives / it even works for images that have been cropped after being stolen or partially photoshopped this is a good example / http://tineye.com/search/0ac89241ed4c8ccd104094f6412ded2e0acfc2d7 / The original is the profile pic of someone who friend requested me on Facebook as something seemed odd/funny about it I put the image through Tineye.com / and you can see the results Another image site which you might like (if you use flickr) is / http://clipyourphotos.com/FP / they serch through the Flickr Front page history for your photos that might have been featured there that you missed any way I hope these are useful for people Cheers Richard

Just a week from tomorrow, we’ll be celebrating Thanksgiving here in America. Some will be travelling great distances to be with family & friends, others will stay home to welcome guests to join them there. It’s a time of celebration with a table of bounty, a time of sharing & reflecting, & a time of giving thanks for God’s provision. We have so much here in America to be thankful for & may none of us lose sight of all the blessings that we often so easily take for granted. I just want to take the time to extend a very Happy Thanksgiving to all of you & to say thank you from the bottom of my heart (& the top of it, too) for all the wonderful comments & encouragement you’ve shared with me over the past few months.
