This photograph was submitted for the National Potrait Prize 2007 and featured as one of the finalists at the National Portrait Gallery, Canberra Since he was born, my brother David has had a strong bond with my father. No matter where and when, David will always try to show his love towards him, even in public spaces. Sometimes his actions will make my father a bit annoyed. This photo was taken exactly when that happened. When I saw what David was doing, I had to react quickly in order to capture the essence of the situation. I couldn’t play around too much with the angle of the shot or the lighting. So I just took my chances and hoped for the best, framing the shot as closely as I could to show the facial expression of both my father and brother. Fortunately, the shot turned out quite well.

This summer my daughter and son-in-law adopted a baby girl. There four year old son was thrilled. He was so happy to have a sister. He was surprised though, that she couldn’t play with his toys.

This is a collaborated picture of pictures I took this morning of my husband, our son Logan and our daughter Kloe playing their new Wii game system. They got this from Santa, and are thrilled!!! It felt so great to have our two oldest kids (at home) come out on Christmas morning and see that Santa gave them a gift together, and be THRILLED about it, and not worry about why they didn’t each get their own Santa gift. Wow….we have great kids!!! Dennis was playing baseball with them. Who ever won played the next person in line playing. I couldn’t resist of course….grabbed the camera!!! So glad he was able to enjoy the morning with them!!! He was feeling pretty good today. :o) Praise be to GOD for that!! /

Here is my boy… He blessed us 3 years ago this week and we felt very lucky since we had daughters and my man longed for a little boy, I bought the book, How to Choose The Sex of Your Baby, followed the instructions and 9 months later we had our little boy. I was nearly 40 when I had him and wasn’t sure about it all but now, I wouldn’t have had it any other way. / He is an absolute handful, I mean, really, one of those kids that just come out of that ‘handful’ mould and is well known in town as he tears in and out of the shops… This is not a picture perfect photo but it shows Andrew as he is, messy eyebrows and all, the thing that I love most about this photo is the little bright spirit that arches over him. My Little Aussie Spirit.
