ALL skills used to create this were taught to me by Charles and very much imitates the first Peice of art he made for MY family…I rmember how excited I was about that so decided to pay it forwards…hope they likeit!!!!

  • Featured in the Woman Photographer group 13th of June 2009 / Featured in ‘Live Love Dream’ on the 18th of June, 2009 Three years ago my mother in the UK lost all her worldy belongings in a house fire. I very nearly lost her, some men passing by dragged her out, the next thing she remembered was waking up in hospital with just the clothes she was wearing. That’s all. I have spent the past few years trying to replace artifacts of her memory, I found, bought & gave her a Sweetheart Badge of WW2, pictures of York, uk .. the list is endless. Though she was insured mum said it was like living in a hotel room, everything was new. No history or memories. This evening I uncovered a jewel! I have some old photographs I am scanning to send. I asked mum about the one with the Spaniel, when was it taken? This image was taken in about 1943. Michael is the name of the spaniel. Michael was onboard the first ever flight dropping leaflets on Germany early in the war. His owner, SQD Leader Harry Duddon on a later mission without Michael was shot down and held POW in Stalag lll the infamous Nazi camp. Mum was the carer of Michael till his release. I never knew this until this evening. I am amazed and very proud. Thank you for looking.

  • A beautiful expectant mother stands alone and naked lost in thought and day dreams of the moment when she shall finally hold her child in her arms

  • This photograph was taken by my father in 1940. The two women are my mother, Mary Elizabeth French Soule (rear), and her sister, Dorothy May French Hyde. Both sisters were artists so holding the art book is very appropriate. This is one of my favorite photographs of my mother who passed away at the age of 44 when I was a freshman in college. This is a repost. I tried in vain once again to link this poem to the other one through a journal…but, it seems (as I suspected!) I’m too dumb to actually make it happen. :) I can accept that. / So…here it is, posted again; as the last time I posted this for my beautiful grandmother, I had just joined the bubble, and not many read it. / I wanted my Gran read. She raised me after my mum died when I was 7 (and had lived with us most of my young life before then) – i miss them both more than words can say, as you can imagine. / thank you for reading. :)

  • Featured in Animal Portraits December 2009 The Common Chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes), also known as the Robust Chimpanzee, is a great ape. Common Chimpanzees are found in the tropical forests and wet savannas of Western and Central Africa. They once inhabited most of this region, but their habitat has been dramatically reduced in recent years. This image shows a baby chimpanzee clinging to his mothers back.

  • I ttok this shot of some marmots on the Grand Mesa, Colorado, back in June. The focus isn’t perfect on the young marmots, but I like the composition. I was looking for early morning Elk and Moose, but was happy to come across these guys. the mum appeared at first and then 3 youngsters popped up, although there are only two in this shot. • Mother and children are representative of an early pioneer family in the 1800’s. These encampments draw people from all walks of life and, very often, the entire family participates. They were kind enough to let me take this portrait. / Canon EOS 5D MkII, EF24-70mm f/2.8L USM, 1/100 sec. @ f/8 / Post processing with assorted layers and effects in CS3.
