Six weeks after my son was killed in an arm robbery his son Ashton was born. It was on his first birthday that I actually saw his father’s smile shining through him and it etched a place in my heart forever.

My youngest son and his wife had just become new parents of a son. Within a few weeks his wife became very ill with acute pancreatisis. She was in critical condition due to the infection and she had numerous operations but he stayed by her side day and night for two months in the hospital. Just 18 and going through such a struggle for life. I wrote this poem on one of my visits as I watched my son watch over her with so much love and admiration.
