  • This morning I realized I never make art for the soul purpose to hang on my wall….ironic I know….so I wanted to do something special for the family….we have always had a guardian wolf spirit, you can call him a ‘totem’ spirit or ‘familiar’ spirit….we call him family…..so here is my representation of our spirit who has been with us for over 9 years….may you never leave our sides my friend…going in a frame and on the wall as soon as i finish uploading him : ) I hope he brings you comfort as he has for us on so many occasions….

  • Done in pen & pencil. i wanted to add words, but thought it might ruin the picture. i wanted Father Grim Reaper tell his daughter Azmerelda that Rex the Dog’s ear is falling off, & she needs to resew it back on . And Azmerelda says “Yes, Father”. Anyway, the sewing jobs on Rex, the Cat Sparky & Glomp the Rat aren’t very clear, Azmerelda sews ears on them since they are skeletons they would not normally have ears

  • I would like to dedicate this image to all our fallen heroes and their loved ones; please know you will be remembered and appreciated forever. (This image is a composite of three photos, one of a soldier at Fort Polk, Louisiana, one of a flag taken at Spanish Lake in Iberia Parish, one of a country road connecting the rice fields near Kaplan, Louisiana. The background layer is the rice field road; I selected and pasted the flag and the soldier onto this background and used the sliders in the layers palette to control opacity and to give them an other worldly look. The background had the Orton effect applied. All this was done in PhotoShop Elements 6.0 for Macs). This image was inspired by Mark Graham my husband’s cousin, who gave his life in Iraq

  • Featured In: / -Still Life And Food Photography / -Fabulous Flowers The roses that were my Valentine’s gift have dried and the pottery vase from my daughter has just been waiting for the right ‘something’ to fill it. My plan with these photographs of my daughter’s pottery is to photograph as many of her pieces as possible before they’ve all been given away so she’ll have a record of her work. I’ve mentioned before that I find roses difficult to photograph. Well, dried roses are even worse! LoL The camera picks up every very dry area and makes a spectacular blown-out highlight. You wouldn’t think a photograph of roses would be accompanied by some rather awful growling noises on the part of the photographer but maybe those growls added some texture. :-D HollyCawfieldPhotography

  • One of my favorites right after my grandson was born. The Love Story: My daughter, Erin had just bought her own house and had a series of roommates to help her pay the mortgage while she finished school. She tired of them leaving her with phone bills etc and saw an ad to host exchange students at Sacramento State College. She decided to enroll in the program and hosted numerous students. His Story: He arrived from Korea and was at the college to find his host. He noticed a young woman drive up and jump out of a Jeep and was instantly tantalized so placed himself in a position to say hi to her as she walked by. Her Story: She was going in to meet her next student and passed a guy who smiled broadly at her and said hi! She said hi and walked on by thinking, ” Mmmm -He’s kinda cute!” Lo and behold they were matched up! She showed him the area when he was not in school and i thought something was different about this student. They spent so much time together. After he left she visited Korea and then he returned to complete his education here. They had two beautiful weddings, one, a traditional Korean ceremony and the other a traditional American one. They are now happily raising their little boy and talking about another child. They are beautiful. Featured: NYIP Students and Alumni Group Winning Photo: Love Is Group, Couples Challenge
