A game I can never / Win for the fairy-tales / Of everlasting joy / Have faded with the / Years gone by.

An older work. Written in May of ‘07. This is a rather personal piece…I couldn’t sleep until I wrote it down. I don’t write poetry too often, but when I do it’s usually not all that bad. Partially inspired by my friend at DeviantART

  • Old or New
    by mystical1

Is it your touch / Or the look in your eyes / Or is it remembrance / Of some other time

Meeting someone new that you feel like you’ve known for a long time

  • An old familiar
    by anaisnais

An old familiar, / all too clear; / as you roll on your back / and new tempo appears. Repeated chug / of train runs through; / no nightmar…

Thought I’d compare the familiar snore with the train rattling through the bedroom. A purposeful ending leaving the reader unsure if I fall asleep straight away – dreaming, or next day by his side relaxing on a beach….

  • Familiar...

Each Who Sings Now? poem I have written is inspired by a Teacher found in Nature; a tree, star, animal, stone, etc. from which we can learn so many priceless lessons… if we only take the time to listen. Many people enjoy trying to guess which Teacher inspired the poem before going on to read about them in detail. Can you guess who is singing? I chose to share this Teacher today in response to a post by, and ongoing conversation with a new friend for me here at Redbubble… Wayne Cook, this one’s for you today. http://www.redbubble.com/people/waynocook/writing/3807237-transcendency-and-spirituality

It’s kind of Comforting to sit / in this / Familiar Feeling / of / Helpless hope / and its / Steadfast, yet Unsure / Longsuffering.

  • Alone
    by skinnyman

“I want to be alone” / I heard myself say it

Loneliness is generally seen as a bad thing. This is not always so…to be alone is also self reliance, to be self contained in a world within your control…it can be a comfort. / This piece is not meant to be depressing, more a reality of how I have become the man of today. / I wrote solitude earlier this year…it seems to be a re-occurring theme for me
