This morning I realized I never make art for the soul purpose to hang on my wall….ironic I know….so I wanted to do something special for the family….we have always had a guardian wolf spirit, you can call him a ‘totem’ spirit or ‘familiar’ spirit….we call him family…..so here is my representation of our spirit who has been with us for over 9 years….may you never leave our sides my friend…going in a frame and on the wall as soon as i finish uploading him : ) I hope he brings you comfort as he has for us on so many occasions….

Like the Night – Lord Byron SHE walks in beauty, like the night / Of cloudless climes and starry skies, / And all that’s best of dark and bright / Meets in her aspect and her eyes; / Thus mellow’d to that tender light / Which Heaven to gaudy day denies. This started out as an entry for a Halloween competition – but the theme was ‘Horror’ and this turned out to be quite the opposite I think! The Witch and her Black Cat are off to ‘who knows where’ on the night of All Hallows … Her feline companion is obviously a novice to the art of broomstick riding – so she turns to lend a steadying hand to her familiar as they glide across the beautiful moonlit sky….. Pendle Witch Country, in the Lancashire Pennines, is an area lying between (but also including) the north western edge of Bronte Country and the Ribble Valley, to the north and north east of which are Bowland, and the south western Yorkshire Dales respectively. The area is dominated by the dark brooding mass of Pendle Hill (shown above) and made famous (nay infamous) for its grim and fiendish association with the “Witches of Pendle”...

Poppy was sitting on top of my radio … she can get a better view of the bird feeders from there … and I noticed the shadow cast by a plant hanging in the window on her beautiful red coat. If you look closely the bit of the shadow at the bottom looks like a witch on a broomstick!!! My secret is out!!!!! but please don’t look at my dirty windows …. a slipped disc is a good excuse!

I’m still wondering about the ethics of dying pets (I saw them on a market stall in Malaysia)... / Ok, the dye might not be harmful, but imagine the trauma of being dyed bright pink?? “Don’t look so surprised!” was featured in A Friendly Pet Shop
