This was taken in the heart of the Tasmanian wilderness between Queenstown and Derwent Bridge. There had been a decent amount of rain just prior, and in fact it was still coming down at the time of this shot. This meant that the falls were in a heightened flow and gave a lovely consistent & broad white curtain. / ~ / Browse Images by Category : Snow Landscape Nature

Stronge light shafts bursting through forest foliage onto cascading Water. Wide angle long exposure capture using Gradient Filters.
I found this leaf totally stripped of its green (or red or???) covering and just perfect in its skeletal form, lying on the ground as I walked in the local woods. The actual size is 4” in length. BEST VIEWED IN LARGER MODE! / Taken with Nikon D80 1/60s f/13 ISO 250 105mm macro lens on tripod /
This was the best angle I could get because the channel wasn’t very wide. The black spots in the water by the shore line are dead leaves. The photo was taken in the village of Orwell, PA on 10/14/2008. The camera is a Canon Rebel XTi with a Sigma 17-70mm lens and a circular polarizer. Other equipment tripod and cablerelease. Edited in HDR software. / Another photo that has to be click view larger to see the beauty. /
Everything seems to have a place. / It all fits together perfectly. / It has pattern and order and purpose. / / But sometimes, despite your best efforts, things unravel. / The ends fray. / Stuff becomes unstuck. / You lose track of the delicate interplay of all those nameless ‘bits’. The next thing you know, it’s falling apart. / Flying in in the breeze. / And it will never be the same again. But it feels… free. _ / The acrylic on canvas version (small child not included) /

This was a collaboration between me and the bride. I had this pose planned but it was her awesome idea to add the leaves!

Made in UF5 The original parameter I made this from is below. All I did was change the gradient and zoom way in on the design. It reminded me of these very ornate christmas ornaments that grandma used to make. / /
