Canon Powershot with IR filter “As Is” / Brandywine Falls Ohio / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-— / I have been waiting for this kind of shot for a long time. The storms were fierce with a ton of rain last night. I decided to take of work and spend the day at the falls near my house. I must have snapped 200 pictures today. What a great day!! I found a new toy its my infrared lens. Yosemite National Park – April 2008 Dragged myself out of bed at 7am with a raging temperature and flu in minus temps. Skated with tripod along an ice covered bridge to re-shoot this waterfall after a corrupt CF card, anything for a shot huh?? MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD / Best viewed large. / / / / “MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD” was featured in the group COUNTRY ROADS/AROUND THE WORLD / / / / “MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD” was featured in the group NATURAL COLOR AND LIGHT / / / This is a recent photo of my favorite country road! It is located in Flatwoods, Kentucky, in Greenup County, which lies in the northeastern part of the bluegrass state. Many of my relatives live in or just outside of Flatwoods, and my Dad built this one. / / The scenery from this road is almost surreal, it is so beautiful. Surrounding this road are country farms, barns and old churches. This road winds around a gorgeous mountain cloaked with a variety of lush trees and evergreens, whose leaves are radiant in the Fall of the year with brilliant shades of yellow, orange, red, brown and green. / / At the top of the mountain is the end of this magnificent road, which leads to a private, gated mansion that overlooks the entire county. It is very quiet and peaceful there, and everything, including time, seems to stand still on this beautiful road. Saint Mary’s Lake is in Glacier National Park, Montana, USA. I believe I was rather lucky to get such a calm day as I witnessed here, since I was told that for quite some weeks they had been experiencing unusually bad weather for the time of year ! Glacier is an amazing place, with its primeval mountain shapes, and abundant wildlife, lakes and waterfalls, and many good trails. I was hearing the Elk bugling across the lake as I shot. I would recommend this magic place to anyone ! Shot on my Canon EOS 40D, mounted on tripod, polarising filter, f22, 1/30 sec, iso 100, auto WB, Raw file, processed in Adobe CS3, selective levels/curves and selective colour adjustments. This is the Isle of Skye at it’s best, when there is a lot of colour in the landcsape, with the low sun we get this far North at this time of year, accentuating every detail. / This is the crofting community of Tarskavaig, with the glorious backdrop of the Cuillin Hills. / “Crofting” is small time farming, or “smallholding” where a few crops might be grown, and a small number of cattle or sheep kept. A single RAW file, shot on my Canon EOS 50D , polariser filter, f25, 1/2 sec, underexposed by 2/3 stop, iso 100, auto wb, processed in Adobe CR, then in CS3. MORE OF MY ISLE OF SKYE WORK…...
