A day out touring for turns off Mt Mckay near Falls Creek, Australia. We found some lovely fresh snow after the resort had been tracked out.

The day before Easter Sunday in Yosemite a cold front blew through. We got up and ate at the exclusive Ahwahnee Hotel and then meandered to the falls and saw this beautiful site.
GOODBYE WINTER!!!!!! / A double layer of two pics,one of a barn during winter and a panned shot.I don’t even remember how I did the falling snow…. :o| ... !! / I know this look like selective coloring but it’s not,even the truck was white… :))) /
Mount Shuksan is in the North Cascades National Park, Washington State, USA. / This part of the USA is known as “The Pacific North West.” We arrived here good and early, before the crowds arrived, and since there is a highway running all the way to “Artist Point” it can indeed get busy , I guess owing to the fact that it is easily accessible from the Seattle region, straight off the Interstate from Bellingham, an easy drive of less than two hours, and not too remote, / I spotted some postcards and tourist brochures with a variety of images of this scene, and determined to see it for myself. Glad I did. I would love to see this when snow blankets the ground ! “In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks.” JOHN MUIR Shot on a CANON EOS 20D, mounted on a tripod, polarising filter attached, f22, 1/30 sec, iso 100, auto wb, 18-55mm lens, / set at 18mm, RAW file, processed as much as possible in Adobe Camera Raw then CS3, usual levels/curves adjustments, LAB colour, Intellisharpen used. A surreal depiction of shoes for all seasons.
For those of you who are looking forward to winter. Living high in the Colorado Rockies was magical. On occasion, it was also heck of a lot of work. This snow is the one that drove us to move down from 7700 feet. This is our seasonal neighbor’s cabin. We were farther down the lane. It took me a week with a big two-stage snow blower to clear a blower wide path from the house to the street. That was the single largest storm we experienced in 12 years in the Poudre Canyon west of Fort Collins. As winter approaches, I can’t say I’m sorry to be living in Arizona. Taken with Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ12 with layers of white with a touch of texture underneath to reduce pixelation. I always wanted a “classic” kind of Elk shot, where one can see the steam coming out of their nose and mouth after the Bugle, with snow falling and such, and I think I finally was able to get it ! He gave us a lot of good shots, I will say that! Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado Minolta 5D & Tamron 200-400mm lens
Mount Fitz Roy in Argentina on a beautiful autumn day. I forgot to take my Grad ND filter so this image is made up 4 images covering the dynamic range of the scene and then combined in Photoshop. Lots of masking and adjustment layers and time. Canon 5D mk II with 24 – 105 mm L Lens

EDT…it’s the edge of winter…snow, wet, dark, light, night, day…a time when S.A.D is pre-eminent…it takes time to adjust, and some wait in limbo for EDT in March, but some embrace the changes…I don’t like the dark that sets in so early, so I have daylight bulbs in all my lamps…six weeks from now it’s the solstice and we start looking forward to lighter days Thomas Hood expresses it beautifully for us Watercolour on Sennelier Not Paper CLICK HERE TO SEE THE ENTIRE WINTER COLLECTION No sun-no moon! / No morn-no noon! / No dawn-no dusk-no proper time of day- / No sky-no earthly view— / No distance looking blue ..
