Just downstream from where the Franklin River joins the Gordon RIver in Tasmania’s South-West World Heritage Area. Despite its remote, pristine appearance, this spot recieves thousands of visitors per year from nearby Strahan. The Iguazu waterfalls. One of those overwhelming places. The roar of these giant waterfalls is deafening, there beauty blinding. This shot of “La Garganta del Diablo” was a battle against the spray, but it was worth it. This was taken from the Brazilian side, the far side, a little obscured by the mist, is Argentina. “Clouds on the Water, Fire Near the Sky” / Purchase a Mouse Pad of this image I happened onto this gorgeous sunrise over the White River at a time when the water was at its lowest. I was delighted to catch the calm surface for reflections, as the low rising sun was casting its first orange glow over the autumn colors.

Best on Full Size This image is of the Patuxent River, just up from the Triadelphia Reservoir and Brighton Dam in Montgomery County, Maryland. This was taken on the same day as Autumn Picnic on the Hill , and is the view from just beyond the tree and picnic tables seen there. Hand held image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens with uv and cp filters. HDR image created in Photomatix from a single image duplicated to evals +/-2 in Photoshop. Shutter speed was 1/125, aperture f/10.0, exp 0.00 and iso 500.

I searched the internet for a really long exposure of Tahquamenon Falls but couldn’t find one. So I figured that my first real shot with my new 10 stop filter would be of this amazing falls. This is a blend of 3 long exposure shots. The first one was 4 minutes, the correctly exposed one was 5 minutes and the bright one was 6 minutes. / Black and white to come soon. / Canon xsi / B+W nd 1000 / B+W CPL
