I went out on a trike ride this afternoon. Only 20% chance of rain, except we got 100% of the 20% that was expected. I kept saying to my self, hmmm, water makes the colors more saturated. What colors??? So here is the only one of the batch that I can post. We are half way between summer and fall. Rain is in the forecast, and I can forget about getting out to take pictures of the moon anytime soon
The Waterfalls in Waterfront Park, Kelowna, B.C.,Oct.25/2007. The colors were very bright and vibrant early in the morning. I sit here quite often and sketch or take photos. It really is a lovely Park. It’s right on the lake too, so in the summer it gets quite busy with tourists and such, but there are times when it is very peaceful and quiet like this day was. I love being able to go for a swim and cool down in the summer months as the beach is very close by. From where I stood to take this shot I was at the back of a small island in this pond where they have a Band Shell type stage set up, and in the summer there are quite often concerts with various bands playing different types of music from Classical to Pop, Blues, Jazz or good ol Rock’n’Roll. The beach,” Tug Boat Bay ” Hosts the yearly Dragon Boat Races, the famous Wakefest and various other functions Including the yearly Canada Day Celebrations. This coming year I hope to be there on Canada day as It will be the Grand opening of the new Floating Bridge across Okanogan Lake and there is going to be a spectacular fireworks display so I hope to get some good photographs there. / Anyways this got a little bit long winded, lol. Thank you for looking and I hope you enjoy the photo. It’s one of my favorites.

I spent last week in the wilderness, backpacking through the inner depths of the Grand Canyon. A small side trail led to “Ribbon Falls” from Bright Angel stream on the North Rim. So I went. The place was a magical oasis in the hot and arid desert. I photographed for an hour and then left. I was not satisfied. I had to return. Several days later with sore feet and eager to begin my 4000 foot climb out to civilization, I passed this side trail again and went in for a second look at the falls. The sun was different, and so was the mood. I “felt” the place much better this time and “let the picture take me” this time. I like the result.
