Here at Upper Falls, the Grandma Gatewood Trail begins its six-mile course connecting three of the park’s areas: Old Man’s Cave to Cedar Falls to Ash Cave. I took this shot back in June 2009 & on August the 19th 2009 some kind soul bought a poster of ‘Lost & Found’ / The bike shed and bike belong to Forresters House which is just along the drive from the shed. It belongs to friends of DaRat; Debbie and Mick. DaRat informs me that the shed and bike are still there and that its a popular photographic subject with many other enthusiastic photographers. Debbie & Mick bought a print which they will frame and display in their lounge as a reminder of their famous shed. / Many thanks to you both, hope all the new visitors don’t spoil your peace & tranquility. / If you want to take the same shot just head along to Glen Etive, you should find the bike leaning against a shed. / Lost & Found is primarly intended as a canvas print but all image options are available all the way down to a greetings card which can also be framed. /
Shot at the Lake of Ganzirri, Messina, Sicily. Nikon d70 with with Nikkor AF-S DX 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G IF-ED Other boat images:
Artist’s Note: I love everything about the Fall: harvests of apples and pumpkins, cool evenings with full orange moon, windy days for kite flying, children dressing up in costumes… the Scarecrow / Standing among giants of sunflowers, / Bright pumpkins growing at my feet. / Crows caw and leaves float on the breeze, / Old green tractor chugs a lively beat. Children sweetly laughed into my hair, / Sticky hands with fresh straw to stuff. / Vintage clothes & buttons bound me now, / Soft cotton flannel is plenty warm enough. I may be made to look scary to a bird, / But really, aren’t I quite nice and smart? / Take this leather gloved hand to hold, / I am not fake, this body has a heart. Dorothy knew me, that courageous Lion too. / So, see my face and know I feel, / for in the mind of a child… / I become real. Best on Full Size Wandering around my cousin’s farm in Davidsonville, Maryland, I fell in love with so many images. This was taken from the inside of an old tobacco barn which we calculate to be well over a hundred years old. This image is a compilation of two shots, both my own. The barn image, RAW, taken on my Manfrotto tripod, was shot on a disappointingly gray and overcast October 29, 2009 with the Nikon D300. Shutter 1/500, aperture 5/11.0, exp 0.00, iso 1600. Sky image, a hand held jpeg, was taken August 29, 2009 with the Nikon D300, shutter 1/640, aperture f/13, exp -.67, iso 400. Lens was 18-200mm vr Nikon in both cases. After the image was combined, I created an hdr in Photomatix by duplicating the jpeg to evals of +1 and -2 in Photoshop. Lots of Photoshop tweaking including addition of 2 textures.
