That’s the actual name of this red Maple tree. Fitting, I think. I like to just go out and stand in amongst the leaves and try to breathe it in.

The leaves will be all gone within the next few days. They’ve darkened as much as they can. Thanks to the red maple for this year’s spectacular show!

I took this photo in October 2007 in Connecticut. It looks like an old outhouse but its really used as winter shelter for kids who are waiting for the school bus. Taken at Kaaterskill Falls in New York’s Catskill Mountains. Slight color adjustment, followed by the exposure blending technique I recently learned from a friend. Took 3 exposures while at the falls. Very little saturation boost…the colors up there were really that vibrant. Not an HDR persay. Actually it is the 3 exposures layer masked to get the proper exposure in each area.

An Autumn Ash tree in late October. The leaves are a deep crimson and purple. Getting in close the branches and leaves make a beautifully natural abstract pattern. The tree is seen as through a block glassed window via Photoshop CS2’s filters.

not all the trees have to scream bright yellows or reds to express their fall fashion, some can share their colors in a subtle, shy way, by throwing a few leaves along the road. I photographed this curve in the Smoky Mountain National Park.

After six hours at Rickett’s Glen near Benton, PA, I have more waterfall pictures than I care to admit (there are 21 waterfalls along a 3 mile stretch!). :) However, for some reason, this non-waterfall picture just absolutely captivates me and brings peace to my heart. God’s beauty is astounding to me!
