This easy trail, through a hemlock forest, crosses three small streams and leads behind the falls. the cool moist environment at the falls is perfect for salamanders and summer hikers. Trillium Gap Trail meanders through an old-growth hemlock forest, crosses three small streams and leads behind the 25 foot high waterfall. Take Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail (no RVs or trailers; closed in winter ) to stop #5 where there is a large parking area. This was taken on a bright sunny day in June in the dark woods that surround the lower falls. I was very satisfied with the lighting, which added a fairly dramatic effect. Upper Yosemite Fall as seen from across one of the meadows in early spring. Yosemite National Park, California, is perhaps the world’s best known example of a glacier-carved canyon. Yosemite’s giant waterfalls, towering cliffs, rounded domes, and massive monoliths make it a natural marvel and one of the most visited places on Earth. Yosemite National Park is located in California’s Eastern Sierras. It is comprised of Yosemite Valley, Tuolumne Meadows, Glacier Point, and other high country wilderness areas. One of the main attractions of Yosemite are its majestic waterfalls. The main falls are Yosemite, Bridalveil, Vernal, Nevada, and Illilouette. The best time to visit the falls is in May since the water is gushing. Bridalveil usually has a neat rainbow in the afternoon.

Had my first trip to see the fagus in full colour in Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair National Park, Tasmania. / This is quite a hard crop so it lost a little clarity but the colours are still fantastic. I took a shot from this spot 2 years ago after I had being doing photography for about a year, and the shot that i got(which is on my PF) i was never happy with because i couldn’t get everything in the shot that i wanted with the lens I had back then, so the first time I’ve been back since then I had my trusty 10-20mm with me to get the shot i wanted, i was lucky enough to have a load of rain the days leading up to this and the sun was going down and just caught it as it was fading over the falls allowing some nice light in. I wasn’t sure if i liked the portrait style shot more but went with this, might show the other one a bit later.

The bottom of the Upper Wattamolla Falls, Royal National Park. Can’t decide between the colour and the b/w. If you look very carefully you can see an angel in the middle of the falls in the coloured version but it disappears in the b/w – my daughter spotted it and I couldn’t see it for ages and then it just popped out at me. But I really like the contrast between the water and the rocks in the b/w so your feedback is most welcome Canon 30D Tv: 6 secs / Av: f/16 / ISO: 200 / FL: 62mm

What a magical place this is Natural Bridge (also known as Natural Arch), in the World Heritage-listed, Springbrook National Park, Queensland, Australia. Over millions of years, the waters of the mountain fed Cave Creek has worn away at the basalt cave roof, to create this natural wonder. Home to a colony of glow-worms, only visible after sunset. The short hiking walk takes you through some beautiful rainforest, most of the time, you can hear the falling waters of these falls. A must see if you come to the area! Canon 50D, 14mm. Great Smoky Mountains National Park has water falls in many places. When its hot, people head for the hills of the Smokies. / Cool breezes and water. Swimming, fishing, hiking, and driving trails near by. Shop till you drop in Gatlinburg, and walk your dog if he is well behaved. All kinds of things to do and see, good old Tennessee. Piegon Forge is nearby, I know you like to eat, well I couldn’t name them all. Make fun at the way people talk, come on down yeu all. Maybe you haven’t been here yet, watch out for those curvey roads. One of the most visited parks in the good old USA. GSMNP has a tremendous diversity of plant life. Many people document it or just enjoy it. Rhododendron in bloom around the falls, this gorgous shrub is easily seen because it grows well on exposed ridges at 3,000 to 6,000 feet elevation. They grow 8-12 ft. high.and one of the first I added to my garden, along with the natural ones in the woods. They bloom in June and July in the Park, and about a months difference here later. / Oil on canvas JeffeeArt4u

I always wanted a “classic” kind of Elk shot, where one can see the steam coming out of their nose and mouth after the Bugle, with snow falling and such, and I think I finally was able to get it ! Taken in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, USA. Pretty much a tourist snapshot of the Falls, which I thought I would share with you ! / A rather crowded place, justifiably so, who wouldn’t want to see this sight ? The Canyon has some amazing colours, and I found the best time was towards evening to be viewed at it’s best. The vertiginous slopes are very loose and crumbly, and I wondered how those trees maintain their perilous foothold !!
