Of the two albino squirrels that I shot this morning, one was still a little sleepy. I was trying to get a clear shot of his entire head, but I couldn’t get the angle needed. Still, that twig was gripped in the squirrel’s hind foot, so I guess it was a good trade-off. It was also a rare treat to catch this little critter sleeping. The more that I look at this picture, the more that I love it. I can’t look at it now without smiling. I also now tend to reflect upon the helplessness of nature as man continues to invade their environment. How many animals will lose their homes to man’s quest for more profit today, tomorrow, the years ahead?

I took this photo in Pontypool park. A great place to go for a stroll, its peaceful and pretty and this particular morning there were sunbeams where ever we looked. It was breathtaking. / / /
Had a wedding to attend a couple of weeks ago which gave me the opportunity to find a new area too shoot. So while my wife slept in I ventured up to Mt. Baker for Dawn and this was my reward. Kulshan Ridge Reflecting in the still waters of Picture Lake near Mt. Baker

I was having my coffee this morning on the balcony while watching the rain and it gave me an idea so here it is! This was taken of the rain coming down on the balcony balustrade with the clouds in the background. I know that there are lots of amazing captures of splashes here on RB but this image really wasn’t about the splash, to me, it was more about the capture of morning rain. Best viewed large :o) Nikon D200 / 18-200mm lens, 5.6f / exposure 1/320 / processed in RAW

I am sure that deer, especially, really enjoy their morning solitude. Their needs are small, safety, food, water and a quiet spot, in the morning, much like we like morning coffee or tea or whatever our routine. This image has it all. The mist is rising as the sun climbs up out of it’s slumbering state. It is Autumn and so the foliage reflects that. The reflections are calm, for this is a stream that doesn’t flow fast, but takes it’s time getting where it wants to go. The whole tempo here is at a very slow pace, the message is wake up slowly because one never knows what the day will bring. Background image taken at River Bridge off of highway 62 on the way to Union Creek, Oregon. The image was softened in Dreamy photo, I then used layers to make any changes. Using a layer mask, I erased the mist over some of the water in the foreground, so that the reflections would be clearer. I then added the autumn leaves in the right foreground as composite layers and then added the small deer as a composite layer.
