Canon Powershot with IR filter “As Is” / Brandywine Falls Ohio / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-— / I have been waiting for this kind of shot for a long time. The storms were fierce with a ton of rain last night. I decided to take of work and spend the day at the falls near my house. I must have snapped 200 pictures today. What a great day!! I found a new toy its my infrared lens. Summer Home
by BigDBest View Larger Feature in All Countries ~ Wetlands, Ponds, Lakes and Rivers group. / Feature in JPG Cast-Offs group. I love this place as a young boy because I grew up here. Us boys used to walked several several miles just to swim at this pond before it was develop. This was taken on 10/14/2008 in the morning. The place is in the village of Potterville, PA. My camera was a Rebel XTi with a Sigma 17-70mm lens and a circular polarizer. Other equipment was a tripod and calbe release. Edited in HDR software. Click view larger to really see the beauty. / /

“Clouds on the Water, Fire Near the Sky” / Purchase a Mouse Pad of this image I happened onto this gorgeous sunrise over the White River at a time when the water was at its lowest. I was delighted to catch the calm surface for reflections, as the low rising sun was casting its first orange glow over the autumn colors.

Some time back, I visited Newstead Abbey in Notinghamshire. It is the former home of the writer Lord Byron. We had a nice family day out, walking around the grounds and into the designed gardens. I took this shot in the Japanese garden. I had to lay down on the muddy bridge to get this shot and several more like it, but it was worth getting dirty. I’ve got the dogs and the camera equipment … did you bring the fried chicken and potato salad?? Image taken at Triadelphia Reservoir off of Route 97 in Montgomery County, Maryland, October 26, 2009. Nikon D300 with the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens; UV and CP filters; hand held, shutter 1/100, aperture f/10.0, exp.0.00, iso 500. Post processing included hdr at +/- 2 evals in Photomatix from a single hand held image. A very faint amount of texture layer added in Photoshop. Thanks to Princess of Shadows at Deviant Art for the texture.
