This is Thornseat Lodge, a derelict house in Derbyshire, originally a Gamekeepers house, then in 1934 was turned into an orphange and was stopped being used in the late 80’s, now it is just falling apart, such a waste

The colors are just starting to turn here, and you just can’t beat Michigan fall colors! HDR This piece was featured by The Red Barn group, Dilapidated Buildings group, Michigan Beauty group and Rural America group. THANK YOU!!
I never did get around to posting all my autumn shots….so here’s another one…there’s a huge group of photogs all massed across the other side, trying to jostle for position on shifting reed beds and yuckky mud, and further across there’s a couple more. I gave up waiting over that side, and moved to the western edge to see what I could see…..now you can see what I could see :) This was processed in NZ with photomatix, back when I was probably a little overwhelmed by the colour….I might reprocess it and see if I like it better with my newer techniques New Zealand / Seascapes / Frogs / Lensbaby / Infrared / Industrial / Spam / Panorama / Landscapes / Real Estate Series / People
Autumn Travels Shot in Alluvial Fan area of Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado What a scene that just glowed…and I mean GLOWED. It made your jaw just drop open. I am fortunate in that no one else was there, and was lucky to be able to take about 100 shots of this scene alone, playing with composition and such, and custom white balance settings, and in this one, something similar to a sunset setting was used. Let me know what ya think! Can ya hear the rustling of the leaves?? / —-John
A beautiful shot of a maple trees in the fall with the contrasting sky above. Taken in true Infrared to highlight the foliage and contrast the sky. The leaves were a bright yellow. Rendered as a duo-tone. Location: Gatineau Park, Quebec, Canada. Canon G2 with Infrared R72 filter, / HDR , 3 frames, bracketed., processed with Photoshop CS3 Also appears in the calendar Reflections of the Seasons
Just something different! HDR processed and then played around a bit in LR. I kind of like it…I need some flowers. My mind is growing very dark these days!!! / Thoughts??? Wait maybe I don’t want to know!!! HAHA!
The waters of Young’s Creek cascade majestically over the rock face at Triplet Falls, amid the rainforest in The Great Otway National Park, in the hinterland behind The Great Ocean Road, Australia. Pentax istDS Camera – Three timelapse images bracketed to create an HDR image in Dynamic Photo HDR. My Bubblesite showcases images in their categories. ‘Featured’ in the 100%, LLD, and Natural Colour and Light Groups.
My kind of HDR… I used no program, just what I liked from 3 different exposures and put them together over the darkest image. First of many I tried in Yosemite.
Nevada City is an amazing place, but you have to be there early to get the place to yourself ! We got lucky, it was ‘off’ season and consequently very quiet , combined with a beautiful morning. / There were so many things to photograph, you could spend a whole lot of time there, but we were headed for Yellowstone, so time was limited sadly. Along with Bodie, California, this is a place I would happily return to time and time again …....... if only !! Shot on a Canon EOS 40D, polarising filter attached, and mounted on a tripod. Canon 18-55mm kit lens / f22, 1/10 sec, underexposed by half a stop, iso 100. Cloudy WB. / I processed a single RAW file in Photomatix, HDR. Then processed in Adobe Camera RAW, then Ortoned it in PS CS3, adjusting Curves/levels, selective colour, etc., plus a bit of dodging and burning. / FEATURED IN / http://www.redbubble.com/groups/your-magic-places / AND / http://www.redbubble.com/groups/dslr-users-only-3-a-day / AND / http://www.redbubble.com/groups/rebel-group / AND / http://www.redbubble.com/happy-haven / AND / http://www.redbubble.com/groups/unlimited-quality

Best on Full Size This image was taken at the same time on October 10, 2009, and in relatively the same spot as Almost Home but I was turned in the other direction, looking back the way I’d come. This area is within the Blue Knob State Park in Pavia, Pennsylvania on the extension of Pavia Road (4035). Image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200m vr Nikon lens, hand held. Shutter 1/400, aperture f/10.0, exp. 0.00, iso 1,000. Duplicates created in Photoshop to an eval of +3, +1 and -3 and processed in Photomatix Pro for hdr, then returned to Photoshop for the addition of two textures and some tweaking. My thanks to Princess of Shadows at Deviant Art for the textures.
Best on Full Size This image is of the Patuxent River, just up from the Triadelphia Reservoir and Brighton Dam in Montgomery County, Maryland. This was taken on the same day as Autumn Picnic on the Hill , and is the view from just beyond the tree and picnic tables seen there. Hand held image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens with uv and cp filters. HDR image created in Photomatix from a single image duplicated to evals +/-2 in Photoshop. Shutter speed was 1/125, aperture f/10.0, exp 0.00 and iso 500.
Best on Full Size it really is When I first began taking photography seriously … and believe me, as much as I joke around, I do take it seriously … someone gave me a wonderful bit of advice: “always turn around.” And in the case of this particular image, it couldn’t have been more wise. I had been chasing the “sunlight-through-autumn leaves” look all that afternoon … and without a whole lot of success, I might add. At one point, I happened to glance back over my shoulder and snap this image … and a couple more for good measure, of course. But it wasn’t until I got home and loaded it up that I realized how much I liked it. Hope you do too. Image taken off of Church Road, Howard County, Maryland. Handheld image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens, uv filter … not sure if the cp filter was on or not. Shutter 1/250, aperture f/8.0, exp. -0.33, iso 320. Cloning of evil telephone pole and wires then off to Photomatix with three images at +/-2 evals, then back to Photoshop for a light, light Orton and a hint of texture.
